Great posts Cromer and General and I think the MFW contributors are 'right on money!!!' with their comments.
I know several people who are 'true supporters' in the world/words of ILD and will turn up most weeks at CR come what may and I know almost as many who are considering giving up their STs due to the lack of entertainment/excitement on match days.
The attendance figure on Saturday was just over 25,000, whereas for Derby, it was nearer 26,500.

It's funny, all this doom and gloom, generally evapourating optimism but looking at the predictions league you mainly seem to be ignoring the mounting evidence of incompetence or are just unswerving optimists?

From the last 3 games, where I have to say I didn't feel we would get more than a draw from any of them and would have been exceedingly surprised had we scored more than 1!

    Barnsley predictions: W8 D1 L1 Goals for 2+[8], 1[2], 0 [0]
    Forest predictions: W3 D3 L2 Goals for 2+[3], 1[4], 0 [1]
    Preston predictions: W6 D1 L2 Goals for 2+[4], 1[3], 0 [2]

Why anyone thinks we'll score more than 1 goal is beyond me?

    Bah!

Well, it seems to me we're in need of a contrarian view, so here it is. For me, it smacks a bit of 'only singing when you're winning' at the moment. After 46 years of supporting City, I've seen far worse situations than this over the years. We've made some sweeping changes to the club, the squad and the approach and all of that will take time. I was more concerned about the defensive lapses early on, but that was effectively addressed, but now the goals are hard to come by. Injuries to Pritchard and Oliveira haven't helped and now all 3 of our DMs are injured. That has to effect the way we play. Games in the Championship are never going to be 'pretty' week in and week out. Other than Wolves, I can't think of any side playing attractive football. Most are trying to kill the game and sneak a point. We'll, that's my view anyway.

Very well said RER and I remember as a relative newcomer to watching NCFC, how bad things were when we were relegated to league 1 and then our opening game against Colchester (I left at half time!!!!).
Can DF and his assistants make the team gel and score goals?? Possibly IMO and next month is going to be pivotal with 6 games to be played and anything below 10 points would condemn us to 'mid-table mediocrity' - just like our 'neighbours'. <yikes>
