According to sky sports,Norwich are interested in NM.
Still rather the WBA deal regards Simon Cox if this is a go.

I would hope we get rid off ASAP.
It is bringing the whole club down.
Fans are divided,I'm sure the players are affected by it.
He needs to go and the sooner the better.

Thanks for adding this to our board, I think a lot of Norwich fans would like to see Nicky Maynard come to the other side of the country and don a yellow shirt but am sorry to read the speculation is having a bad effect on the rest of your team. If that is the case then I agree he needs to leave in this window and give the Robins a fighting chance <ok>

I know its fun to talk about transfers, but why does anybody believe the rumours they read on skysports, or any other source thats not directly through bristol city website? As 99.9% of the time its utter b*ll*cks lol

Rumours or not he needs to go and I just hope he doesn't play any more mind games with us. He states that he wants to leave so please leave at the earliest opportunity thank you.

I think wherever he does go, whomever he plays for won't exactly be blown away by him. Very average since he has come back from that injury last year. Capable of wonder goals and not much else in my opinion. Should have accepted any offers received in the summer. But despite being a massive fan of the transfer gossip columns, been completely disillusioned with it over the last couple of markets and none of its true, its not even an ageny making it up for his clients and his own gain, its just some fan from the middle of nowhere with no affilliation to the club writing in. It's crap.

Simon Cox is out of our league.
as is Jordan Rhodes and Darren Gibson.

Realistically the only chances we have are with Scottish and Div 2 (which is where Maynard and Adomah came from), but Rhodes is a shooting star and Premiership bound

This would be a bad deal for both sides:

Bristol - deprive them of one of their top goal-scorers
Norwich - he would be 4th or 5th in our current striker line-up, behind Holt, Morrison and Jackson (even Vaughn is argueably better)

You wouldn't be depriving us. I assure you. He's going at the end of the season; whichever team takes him now would be heroes in our eyes.

    Morrison - 8 PL Goals
    Holt - 8 PL Goals

Both have superior 10/11 championship records, and Jackson towards the end of last season was unstoppable...and he is coming into form just this moment (3 goals in 4 games, or if you prefer 2 goals in 3 PL games)

    So 3rd, arguebly 4th.

3 year contract, injuries happen just more regularly in his case, and he has scored 7 PL goals in the past for Everton...nice to have someone talented as our 4th choice, wouldn't you agree?

I really think NM would either be the real deal in the premership,or he would be a flop.
The two things he does not have is pace, and he cannot head a ball.

But he can score a goal out of nothing.Maybe the right players around him would help, however he would have it all to proove in the prem.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Goldeneye175 - I've seen Holt and Morrison play at previous clubs and were ordinary, the difference is they now benefit from a successful team that create chances.

Maynard lives on scraps. If the likes of Holt (I know they're different types) can play in the Prem you can bet your life Maynard would thrive.

OK, you know your player better than I do, I respect that...however I think that with Morrison and Holt becoming established as our "big men", unless Maynard is good at heading or is pacy, I struggle to see how he would be used unless as a subsitute, it pains me to see wasted talent on the bench not ever used, when they would be more successful in the championship, both statistically and mentally (playing every game)...perhaps at Swansea or QPR he would be better appreciated? :)
