So along it comes, early. We're winless, their hardly setting the world on fire either - what's going to happen this time!? With it being a Sunday fixture, we're going to be even further off various sides ( before the start of play ) by virtue of when our fixture is. Is Rhodes BOUND to score vs us!? Got a weird feeling we may end our hoodoo here. Can't recall the last time I predicted a win, but go on, I'll do it. 2-1 town. They'll score from a set piece...... Where are we going to score 2 from though!? 1-1 looks a better one. 2-1, sod it. COYB.
1-0 Town, first clean sheet of the season and a goal from Edwards or Nolan to edge what will likely be a rather hard-fought match, high on industry and passion, but low on entertainment as both sides try to avoid a loss. Note to fans travelling (from Stowmarket at least) the trains are apparently down due to maintenance works.
Fear Not folks. .I haven't seen a derby win since Bryan gunns infamous kick and not seen a home win of any description in about 15 games...and yes I'm going lol
Just for this one game? That would be genius, the ultimate troll. They would go onto that pitch feeling like total lemons.
Serious question - SHOULD we lose this, would some people ( not necessarily on about anyone on here ) start to really turn against Hurst? Say Spanish's scoreline is correct....
Got my tickets for this game.. Seems like a pretty decent attendance based on the lack of tickets available in the North, Pioneer and Cobbold so I'm looking forward to my first viewing of "Paul Hurst's Ipswich" in what should be a pretty good atmosphere. Neither side are particularly confident (or playing particularly well), Norwich mates of mine joked that they were '"Racing us for Bottom of the league'" so I can't see this being a classic in terms of football, but might be an entertaining game with a few goals as they can't defend and we can't defend set pieces. Our biggest issue is that we couldn't score in a brothel at the minute but I expect we'll get a few chances on Sunday. I think this could well be another 1-1 draw with them up the road continuing their chirping about the unbeaten run, but would love to see us go through the gears and put in a fluent performance and take all 3 points.
Will be interesting to see who lines up at the weekend as We've appealed Nsiala's red card, so if that's rescinded he'll no doubt start, but if not then Wolfenden was a surprise inclusion for the U23s as he's supposed to still be injured.. He could slot in perhaps? or if we actually finally sign Tilt, would he come in?... Or would Donacien move central & Spence at RB, or Spence cover in the middle? A lot of uncertainty at the back if Nsiala's red card is upheld. Also, Skuse will be back, but we could well have signed another striker and/or midfielder by then so they could be parachuted into the side
