Brede has spoken of his distress at the events in Norway over the weekend. I'm sure he spoke also for the other Norwegian internationals at the club. I've been trying to think of a way that we, the fans, could acknowledge this and show our support. Regretably I've fallen short. Does anyone agree it's worth attempting and have any ideas how it could be done?
I would imagine there will be a minute's silence on Thursday night and possibly at the Cottage next week as well. Observing that would be a good start for those who are at the games. I know what you mean though - it would be good to do something more, but I can't think of anything either.
Maybe a Norwegian flag draped across the Cottage or above the Hammersmith and Putney for the RNK Split game Captains armband with the Norwegian flag to be sold at a game for charity.
This seems to be a general feeling amongst all the fans and I'm sure its appreciated by Brede and the Riises. There is a plan forming on Twitter and FoF for fans to bring Norwegian flags to the Split and/or Villa games on the basis that lots and lots of small(er) flags all around the stadium will be more effective than one bigger one. This has yet to be endorsed by the Club but I wouldn't be surprised if there was an official announcement about a tribute in the next few days. Apparently small flags can be bought v. cheaply on the internet but get in early if you're planning to buy one - if 20,000 of us do they'll sell out!
maybe the club will do something. Similar to a clapper of some kind with a Norway flag so we can all hold up in respect to those that lost their lives.
Best of luck to you guys showing our boys support. Wish I could be there to support you. I think the Norwegian flag idea is a good one.
