Saturday 5th March sees one of the biggest North London derbies in years. Huge game with huge ramifications for the winners and losers. With both teams pushing Leicester for the title, neither will want to lose ground and this is a real 6 pointer, with the winner taking 3 points and prevent their rival from gaining 3 points. It's been over two decades (yes 21 years) since Spurs last finished above Arsenal and they have never finished above Arsenal since Wenger took charge. Spurs lead Arsenal by a narrow margin (as of 29/02/16) and they will want to try and put some distance between them and their more successful North London neighbours. But they have led by bigger margins before around this time of the season (10 points 2012, 7 points 2013) and have bottled it. So Arsenal know that they have the capability to overhaul Spurs again, but they will need to find some of their earlier season form to ensure that they do. Spurs have their own title ambitions this season and they will be desperate not to lose to their trophy laden neighbours. The record currently stands at 13 league titles for Arsenal, compared to just 2 for Spurs. With Arsenal having won as many league titles at White Hart Lane as Spurs have in their entire history. Spurs are in good form this season, whilst Arsenal have had patchy form recently. Usually Arsenal are the favourites for these games, but Spurs at home will be expected to win and that could take the pressure off of Arsenal and allow them to play at their devastating best. Whatever happens it should be an electric atmosphere with the winners putting themselves in a key position to challenge Leicester for the top spot. The NLD record currently stands: Arsenal wins 78 Spurs wins 55 Draws 49 please log in to view this image
Spurs have a spine, Arsenal don't. Then again, Arsenal have a soft game midweek while Spurs will be kicked to **** at Wham. Still expect Spurs to nick it 1-0.
I think it will be a tough game for Spurs at Upton Park, they have the ability to win it though. I hope you're right and Wham kick the **** out of them though We should be beating Swansea at home, but our form at the moment is sketchy, so who knows. It's a must win game for us before the NLD though.
Goons have turned a 7 point lead over spurs to a 3 point deficit in just 6 games which represents a shocking bottle job of epic proportions . Yes really, 10 point turn around in just 6 matches! Unfortunately I can only see a Goon win ...can't see them being so shockingly **** against us and think that their constant card waving and bitching at the ref every time they are tackled will lead to a niggly game and possible red cards for spurs players. They will also benefit from officials bottling decisions to send off their players as has happened in three of their recent prem matches. I also think the stench of Woolwich will put spurs off their stride. Morally we deserve to win it and that will make those cheating bastards winning slightly easier to take ... especially as it'll mean that their whining fans will continue to be confused about whether it'slove wenger week or wenger is a ****er week.
There was one earlier thanking Wenger for allowing him to see Messi create history by scoring his first goals in England...what a cock
Someone is feeling so anxious about the NLD, they could not wait for the midweek round of matches first. Smell the fear
I am anxious about the NLD as Spurs fans will be too. It's the biggest game in London, something Chelsea have nothing to do with. Also this year the NLD will have a huge bearing on the title. Again ... something Chelsea have nothing to do with
"I am anxious about the NLD as Spurs fans will be too." Why ?? Wenger opened the sealed envelope marked 'Operation SOS' (Salvage our season) on Feb 26. Step 1 will be followed to the letter right up to March 5. Step 2 will be followed starting on March 6. <sorted>
If Chelsea had to beat Spirs to get back into the title race, we would be expectant not ****ting it. Ps You won't be saying that when we play Spurs on May 1 and Leicester last game of the season!!
I strongly feel that the result most neutrals would like to see is a nil-nil draw with 28 bookings and 6 sending offs followed by a hefty points deduction for both clubs ... I know I do .... ...
"You won't be saying that when we play Spurs on May 1 and Leicester last game of the season!!" Actually you can throw the Spurs game no problem. Yes it means that Spurs win at your place for the first time in aeons. But you can : - write that off as merely a footnote in a generally poor season. - add it to the fact that in said poor season not only have you still beaten the Goons twice, but you also upped the WUM stakes by helping Spurs finish above them too.
... if he was a Mouser he'd prefer Goodyear ... i.e "Next year is going to be a goodyear" ... Taxi please
