Russell Martin has a couple of interesting articles relating to the manager change and Holt going. Just the sort of positive outlook we need. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...son-and-vaughan-are-ready-replace-holt-173567 http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...anager-will-give-norwich-fresh-impetus-173564
I agree he would be favourite for captain and seems well liked by the players as well as leading by example on the pitch. Interesting point he makes about it playing to their advantage with regards second season syndrome. Although I believe much more is made of this than their should be, after all only 6 clubs have been relegated in their second season since the PL began
I think Wes, Howson and Martin are the three options. All depends on game time, I'd prefer my captain to be a regular starter.
Whoever is captain will need to be one of the first names on the team sheet. If last season is anything to judge by, that would suggest Ruddy, although I'm not too keen on having a 'keeper as captain. I suppose it depends how much of a character he is in the dressing room. Howson for me I think.
i think howson has to be captain really. howson must be, along with ruddy, one of the first names on the teamsheet
.........i agree that howson is the most likely to be made captain as he is the most likely player to start every match. russ will probably not be a regular starter unless we fail to recruit a new right back. he should be made club captain with jonny as team captain.
I'd like to see R Martin as captain, great player, great attitude, loved by the fans but wouldn't mind Howson as captain at all. But he's still relatively new to the club. But that shouldn't be a problem. How about Fox as an outside shout for captain?
Great to see Russ showing some leadership when the club needs it! See another ex posh full back looking to a long career at Carrow Road. Pity our captain did not take a leaf out of his book!
I genuinely think Martin is a starter at centre back for me. I would make him or Howson captain, I suppose depends on the new manager.
Martin will be one of the anchors in our medium term future I reckon and I appreciate both of these recent comments. It is the sort of fillip that we need at the moment I reckon.
Can we just make McNasty captain? no, but for me (as with everyone else) it does depend on who is brought in. Wessi would have been my first choice (excluding Holt) a couple of years ago, but Howson is his long-term successor and will probably start more often. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, Martin or Wessi, whoever will play more. This can be the year Hoolahan gradually passes the torch to Howson.
