To be fair the USA has 350m people living there and they’re crap. Uruguay has a lower population than Scotland and they’re much better. Some nations are just better at other sports than others. India and China both hopeless at football with over 1bn people living there.
Kind of speechless watching Bellingham like. Actually think England have looked very good for a lot of this game. Definitely enough quality to win a tournament
I have no idea what Maguire has on him, its unexplainable how he constantly gets picked every England match?
For what it’s worth I hope Scotland qualify for the euros it’s virtually wrapped up anyway but tournaments are definitely better with them wales/Ireland in it plus their fans are excellent
Perfect chance to blood others in, dunk has done the job you’d expect from maguire perfectly tonight so no need to keep persisting with him for me
Mental thing is that Eze won’t even get a mention because of how good Bellingham is but he’s some player anarl. With a good manager this squad could win it all I’ve got no doubts at all. Reece James when he’s fit is arguably the best RB in the world. Colwill still a boy. Bellingham Rice and Foden all under 24. Saka 22. Sometimes forget that Rashford is only 25. Replacing Kane will be the challenge. Ferguson would be quality but not sure he’ll switch allegiances.
Thats the whole point in friendlys mate. We all know how much Southgate loves Maguire, he doesnt need to keep giving him all these minutes and sending players like Tomori home without being given a chance. The sooner Southgate leaves the better, i cant stand him.
Not a fan of him myself mate, decent coach and we’d have won the euros have to hope the talent in the playing squad will be enough to get us over the line this summer
The problem with that is that Dunk is nearly 33. He’s no better than Maguire IMO so he’s not going to change him. I know people will say look at Brighton, but they’ve only finished 6th. United finished 2nd with Maguire as their mainstay CB. I’d say Stones is the best CB we have but who’s next is anyone’s guess. That’s the first bad game/half Maguire has had for England for years. Looking to the future Colwill and Guehi may be the shout. Konsa from Villa looks decent too. I think finding the fine line as to when to move players on will be crucial. Italy had 3 CB’s who were all mid 30s and still performing but I don’t think any of ours are anywhere near that level and we don’t tend to play with a 3 so I can’t see Stones still being a regular when he’s 35.
His only club management job was at Boro when Gibson was spending millions, and he got sacked. He was a top top player aswell, i just cant understand how he thinks as a manager. Hes even come out today and said Foden cant play in a midfield 3, when hes starred in that position numerous times for City. We should be playing..... Foden...Rice....Jude... Saka....Kane....Rashford. The talent our squad has is unreal, but unfortunately we have that clueless nob in charge
Southgate gets such a hard time from England fans - World Cup Semi Final & Euro Final - more than any manager since Ramsay has achieved (I know Bobby Robson got England to a WC Semi, but failed badly in the Euros) and still people slag him. It's so bizarre
Ironic he won’t play foden in the middle because he doesn’t play there for city but has played Trent there, played trippier at left back and played Phillips who’s played 6mins this season…
Its impossible to compare mate, weve never had a pool of players available like this in my whole lifetime.
Personally I’d take Grealish over Rashford but imagine having that dilemma.. he just never fails to surprise me. Like starting the World Cup with Mount in the midfield. Of all the options we have how has he came to the conclusion Mount is the best person to throw in?
Foden has played there for City numerous times though. The only reason he doesnt play there regularly is because of Rodri and De Bruyne first choice
Weve never ever had so many options ever in my lifetime. We are blessed with so much talent but unfortunately dont have a manager to suit
