I bet referees hate VAR. At least in the past they could hide behind the fact that their decisions were made in 'real time'. Now having to make 'grey area' decisions on the back of slow motion replays and a mob of 30K supporters on edge with anticipation? I mean, even pundits and supporters in the comfort of their own chair after a good nights sleep still cant agree. Must be stressful for the refs.

VAR should only be used to stop obvious error, not to make judgements.

What should happen, using last night as an example. Referee rightly or wrongly gives penalty. Advised by VAR to take a look. One or two quick looks. Not an obviously wrong decision/grey area. Penalty!
If the referee had not given the penalty. Referee takes a quick look. Not an obviously wrong decision/grey area. No penalty!
Put the decision chiefly in the referees hands and not having them closely scrutinising slow motion replays on the side of the pitch for ages.......

    .....or get rid of VAR!!!!!

Fully agree. VAR is trying to do jobs for which it is not sufficiently well developed and is not suitable.

I remember when VAR was introduced. We were chatting amongst the lads and we mainly said ‘but **** decisions are part of the game’

We thought it was taking away a fundamental part of football.

Now, we get the same **** decisions, but kill game momentum at same time. It’s a crock of ****.

Not often I am right but I predicted what was going to happen. Yes, there would be less bad decisions/controversy. But any bad decisions that would slip through the VAR net would be major.
Before VAR, its like, say, 10 bad decisions per week, which in the past could be evenly brushed under the carpet by the referees, have since been replaced by 1 or 2 major bad/controversial VAR decisions per week, leaving a massive hump in the middle of the floor.

Burnley created more chances against Spurs than we did against West Ham this weekend. It would be foolish to write them (or anyone else off).

Burnley sounded decent from reports, West Ham can improve, Everton will bring in players and get injured ones back.

I can get carried away for a few days though, knowing club have their heads screwed on fortunately <laugh>

Do you expect us to go there and win?

It’ll be tough. I’d be happy with a draw.

    Was a joke mate.

Already said 4 from next 2 great return and I expect us to beat Brentford.

That said, we are more than capable of beating Burnley. 4 from 6 last season and should have been 6, we are far better, they are weaker.

People can say they had a go at Spurs, fine. They got splattered 3-0. They need to come at us and we will love that.

It’s definitely a game we’re capable of winning but I think it’ll be tough. They hardly lose games at home and will be fully aware of how big this one is

Score draw for me and I’d be delighted with our start.

They barely lost games at home last season.

    We battered them.

They conceded 16 last season, they’ve conceded just over 20% of that in 2% of this season.

Man for man we are better than them in every department now.

I agree a draw, any away points in this league are valuable.

We will go there to win though, no ****ing about.

Tom Cleverley will be under early pressure if Plymouth fail to beat Leyton Orient at home tonight…

That's nonsense mate, they had a few scrambles that never looked like beating the keeper, shots aren't necessarily chances ...

... including the three goals, and Diarra's effort, we were way ahead of Burnley.

Those four efforts were each better than anything Burnley managed all game.

Must've been reports from Burnley supporters mate, they were poor, once Spurs scored they looked like it was damage limitation.

They didn't have a single chance in the first half when they were already losing.

I'm not saying it won't be a tough game, they all are, but whoever's telling you Burnley were good has read the stats and not seen the game.

happy with the leeds win as it gives another 'potential bottom team' a big confidence drop, although i was sure it was heading to a goal-less finish, plenty of huff and puff from leeds but really should have had a couple of goals, everton were dire, could not believe the way they tried to play 'our' game and i honestly thought the new stadium would give them a massive boost, still only one game i guess so time to change.

read that farke has said they will not sit back and park up if that is what people expect, i think he needs to review that.

The Spurs keeper would've been ridiculed if he'd conceded tbh ...

... they looked even more boring than they did last season.
