Cardiff play Norwich and Plymouth are at Leeds ... ... any good results for them will do me. Even two draws would put Luton in the bottom three and help us as well. Blackburn play Sheff Utd, in the early game, so another draw there would be wonderful.
Isn’t this geezer at Aberdeen one of the ones we looked at a while back? Looks like another one that was a good pick out by the decision makers, and again makes the Beale head scratch even bigger. Worked out canny mind so hey-ho, just happened to read an article about them and what they’ve been doing to compete.
After watching the Luton v WBA game I have to say I'm confused. Sky were praising Luton as if they were Tamworth v Huddersfield with the home side as plucky underdogs. They also, amazingly, kept going back to their incredible performance against Sunderland ... 'a game they should've won'. This is a wealthy ex-PL club that's spent big money. Their manager, in my opinion, is getting away with murder. He's looked at as some kind of football genius who's only hampered by injuries, referees and opposition teams getting lucky. And don't get me started on Corberan, at West Brom ... ... i don't care what squad he has, his tactics last night were rotten.
Aye. Looks like this Thelin bloke is a bit of a genius from what I read, was a great article. Can’t have a laugh and take the piss, top of the league with Jimmy Thelin though.
I take that as a compliment mate. We are seen as a proper side, the fact (we allowed) them to have a lot of the ball, likely is some kind of well done to them. They were easily one of the best sides we have played so the question becomes how come this manager can’t motivate them to play like that week on week. I like the bloke I think he’s a classy one and a proper football fella, but he’s doing **** with that squad this season.
Is it the coach or is it the players? I'm only going off listening to the podcasts when we played them but didn't the coach try to change the way they played? A more possession based game to draw the opposition out then hit them but the players weren't able to play that way. So it boils down to are the players good enough?
I hope I am wrong, but Lutons antics, and weak referees,(how do they escape bookings) will probably save them from relegation .
Iirc they reverted to their style of play as their results up to 4 games ago were poor. Since reverting they've played Watford, us and WBA at home won one, lost one and drawn one, and threw away a two goal lead at Coventry, who are similarly placed in the league. So is it working? They are definitely difficult to play against as their League 1 football is awful but time will tell if he can get them away from the relegation zone.
Got the Stoke game on, cannon is a handful but don’t think I’d swap him for Wilson, young lad Koumas looks decent too, not forgiven his dad for that last minute goal in the mick McCarthy play off season though, 11 year old me was gutted, bastard
