Nice to see you're back up to full steam there Col!

Went for the less obvious, controversial option on that one.

    Your move...

I do sincerely appreciate that. I had to bring a little bit of sensibility to this board! <laugh>

Poor performance of the month: Brixton for allowing all these damn sticky topics. I can't even see the most recent threads without having to scroll down. Please just let the audience decide the priority! If it gets commented on it will remain top of the pile. If not we probably don't want to see it anyway. Rant over - have a nice day

Hard on Brix, I'll take the blame for that. I've stuck up a few recently. No problem on my PC, but obviously on a mobile phone it makes life difficult.

If members have a view on the maximum no. of stickies at any one time, be interested to know.

my opinion for what it is worth is try to limit it to 3 max, but if needs must then i'm ok with more.

I would say a Man of the match poll on a friday following a game on the Wednesday is surely done by now - and doesn't need to be a sticky longer than 24hours...

and the best signing this season poll - again 24-48 hours thats enough really.

If it is of sufficient interest it will stay at the top.

Agree with both AAAAAGH and Cannock to a large extent. As I just replied in PM from Goldie, my rule of thumb has been no more than 2 stickies on major issues as a norm - max 4 in exceptional circs. Golden rule: don't keep them up longer than necessary.

Also, apologies for my ****-ups on this thread.

Agree Cannock, 3 max seems appropriate, 4 in exceptional circumstances (such as we've been experiencing lately)

Edit - sorry, didn't see Brix post above

Only problem I can see is with the monthly awards; if people only vote on them and post no comment (which is what is happening) they will slip off the front page and by Sunday when the polls close they could end up on page 6 or 7. If you can't see it you're not likely to hunt through the pages for them.
There's 4 of them on the other hand, and that's already too many stickies, so it's a dilemma; a minor one, but what to do?

Again, stickys only serve to reinforce the personal view of the moderators that the topic is important. Let the market decide! If a topic is relevant or interesting enough it will stay at the top anyway. So 0 stickys gets my vote Brixton & Goldhawk.

Sorry to be a bit grumpy about all this and i know people are putting a lot of work into these things, but I'm finding it hard to be bothered with all the polls etc!! I find it hard to remember what people have written 5 mins ago tbh, so to have to search through the site to read up on what has been said and by whom and then to decide which I prefer etc seems much too much effort for my time on the site. Sorry again and respect to all those involved!!

Would it be worth starting a poll to see if we want more polls?
