RYAN Noble insists that he has returned to Sunderland a better player than the one who joined Hartlepool United. The 19-year-old made the short trip down the A19 in March ahead of a 13-game loan stay at Victoria Park. It was the first time Noble had appeared regularly at senior level and his two goals â against Yeovil Town and Leyton Orient â were both match-winning efforts. Those strikes, coupled with the forwardâs honest endeavour, persuaded manager Neale Cooper to go on the record with his desire to see Noble return to the club next season. That remains a very real possibility, but in the meantime the former England youth international is back on Wearside. There he will return for pre-season training, and he believes that Black Cats boss Martin OâNeill will see a different player at the Academy of Light come July. âI think Iâll go back to Sunderland a better player for my time at Hartlepool,â said Noble. âItâs just a completely different experience, and youâve got to adapt pretty quickly. Youâre playing against boys really at reserve-team level. But in League One itâs men â thereâs some big lads. âYouâve got to put yourself about a bit. So itâs been a challenge, but I think Iâve got better with every game. âI spoke to a couple of the coaches (from Sunderland) and I know some of them have been to watch me and put reports in,â he went on. âThatâs a good thing because I want to make it at Sunderland. âThe experience at Hartlepool will only help me with that and Iâm definitely a better player now.â
Pleased for him and really hope he makes it, but only 2 goals scored, hardly set the world alight there did he!
HOPE HE GETS A RUN OUT , at 19 he needs to get a few sub appearances to see what he can do, rather have him than Bendy he knows where the net is and with a good supply could be amazing
Think he will get a long term loan next season maybe at Hartlepool again. If he doesn't shine then will be sold.
Are we too quick these days to write off and not develop. Some players don't come through the ranks until 22 23, yet here we are saying it's make or break at 20 years old. 8 years from when he should hit his prime! Is the 24 media to blame for this instant gratification that everyone demands these days.
maybe but he will still get a chance at a lower level to prove himslef and work his way back to the PL in the future if he develops late
