I didn't say it compared, did I? And don't forget that at Porto Mourinho inherited a ready made team which had come 2nd in the last two years; at Chelsea he inherited a ready made team which had just come 2nd in the PL and gotten to the Cl semi finals; at Inter he inherited a ready made team which had just won three Series A titles in a row and at Real he inherited a ready made team that had finished in the top 2 for the last four years. So he's hardly built a successful team from scratch in the same way SAF did at St Mirren and United. No, SAF didn't go seeking fame, but then we're not discussing who's the most famous, we're discussing who has the most achievements. Mourinho has achieved the same thing with three clubs: taken an already good (and sometimes great) squad to another level. SAF has taken a team from the bottom of Scottish football to the Premier division with almost zero new players; taken an already good squad to another level at Aberdeen; and maintained a single club at the top of one of the most competitive leagues in the world for 20 years, building from the ground up and training players from scratch. So no, SAF hasn't achieved the fame of managers who chose to cherry pick the largest and richest clubs in the world. But that doesn't make his achievements any less in my eyes. P.S. What top trophies did Michels win outside of the Netherlands?
Just as the most well we are not discussing whose the most famous but the most successful?? only in England at a club where money has almost never been an option? Michels, Happel & Mourinho's achievements far out weigh Fergie's as they have done so in many different countries and clubs.
