Col Think he will keep it as tight as possible for as long as possible. When/if we concede then we have to change our setup and go at them. I thought he would have Cisse or Adel or both on the bench to allow us to change when needed. For long periods of the game today i think we will be chasing shadows, thus i thought he would play mackie, SWP, Traore etc. Playes with really good engines , who will put in the hard yards. I'm not saying for one second i agree with this, i just thought this is what MH would do.
Very odd decision - he's our best player, best at keeping possession of the ball that will be key, and the one most lokely to have created anything!
It makes sense if Cisse if playing in a wide role when we are defending. That means we have the pace to break with Cisse and SWP and we dont have that with Taarabt. We are more attacking by playing Cisse over Taarabt.
I suppose it will be this: ----------------------Kenny------------------ Onouha--------Ferdinand------Hill-------Taiwo --------------Derry-------Barton------------- Mackie---------------SWP--------------Cisse ------------------Zamora------------------- Will that side retain possession enough? We will see!!
Adel tries but hes not the best at defending as seen at WBA. You arrent going to play Adel because he can defend a bit better.
SWP can't retain possession anymore than Tarbs can....and for the one or two times they do retain possession....... Tarbs does so much more with it, The plan has got to be we are going to fustrate them.....and if we go into the last 20 minutes no more than 1 goal down.....and IF Bolton are winning then throw Tarbs on to get the goal we need. Is that the plan???

Well to be fair they havent actually seen it yet, they will probably change it when we start! (its actually the 1st time theyve had us playing 4231 since Hughes took over)
I can understand what Hughes is trying to do but if we're going for pace down the wings then surely Traore offers far more than SWP. Fasten your belts for it shall be a bumpy ride unless Stoke score two early goals.
i think SWP is in the centre with Cisse and Mackie on the wings however Id like us to go 442 and bring on Traore or Taarabt at LW for SWP/Mackie if we go a goal down.
Okay but you must admit he loses possession with 1 out of three of his clever passes.....but won't he be better coming on to win the match for us against a tired City team. But AS I SAID.....Taarbs does so much more with the possession he does keep. I am a great Taarbs admirer, and I would have played Taarbs and notCisse....but had Cisse come on like he did last week to win the match. In Sparky we trust ....please
****ing hell that's even more pointless than the 442 I'd assumed. Cisse is a disaster on the wings, SWP is a disaster in the middle. Say it ain't so Flyer.
