We need a third striker, remember when Gomis was injured and we lost Oliveira against Man City.

With the way last season went and where we finished then i would say we have moved up another level of expectations. We may be a small club to the likes of the Manchester clubs,Arsenal and Chelsea but we are catching up with the likes of Liverpool, spurs and the Evertons of the premiership and the only thing we are small at is the attendance that is allowed and when you think there are about 10,000+ more who would attend then again we are at another level. Even our backroom staff is currently moving up a level so when it comes to the squad then we have to improve and fair play to jinx and Monk they are working hard to do this. We have grown vastly since the first day we played our first premiership game when nobody even our own fans gave us a cats hell of a chance of remaining in the premiership for long.....well 5 seasons on and we are no longer recognized as relegation fodder and more a club that have moved up the rankings quietly and even the big clubs now have got to play really well to beat us and even then they don't sometimes.....There is only one problem we have and that is we really need to expand ASAP and i want to see the club resolving this issue within the next year one way or another.....

Think there are lots of smoke screens going on to cover what we are really up to. Don't be surprised to see him land !

Agree, think the Denney bit is just a smoke screen, and shows that we are looking else this putting pressure on getting the Mitrov deal done.

We cannot rely on Gomis only, I'm sure we will get this sorted, in Sir Jenkins we trust...................<cheers>

Oh well, never mind. I'm not as disappointed as I have been.

Champions League bound Roma have recently loomed into view again with Mitrovic saying he'd like to play in Rome.

His reasons? because Roma is a huge club? nope, because Roma is a club with rich history? nope, because Roma is a forward looking club with the Champions League in their sights? nope. His stated reason for wanting to play for Roma is, 'the weather is nice in Rome'. Hardly inspirational and quite a flippant remark I think.

His Dad seems a complete Paul Ince too as he's touted his Son around Europe like a winning lottery ticket (potentially). Like Ince he too has insinuated himself into his sons transfer dealings and has traveled to clubs with a team of 'advisors' while his son is no where to be seen.

Far too much going on around the boy I think especially with Dad leading the charge of the entourage while trying to score his Son a deal based, it would appear, on cash not career.

HJ said no very early on, I think we know why now. Oddly, so have most clubs who initially expressed an interest in him. This in itself is very strange when you consider Mitrovics potential. A player of his calibre should have been snapped up when the T window opened, but he's still out there, wandering around. Something just doesn't seem right to me.

He may end with the Magpies, again, very odd when you consider he has expressed his desire and intention to play champions league football but no top clubs appear to want him, or at least are not prepared to enter an auction.

If he does end up at Newcastle they've potentially signed a gem but I think Dad will want a comfy seat in Ashleys' directors box.

I've lost patience now, and with his Dads involvement, I've lost interest too. HJ saw something early doors and ran a mile, I think we're starting to work out what he saw. Good call HJ.
