Cheap option? Did a good job with Norwich and got them up the first time around. What you reckon guys. Any suggestions except the obvious Dave Jones, Curbs bla bla...
Nigel Worthington - just had a quick look at his profile on wiki. You know at his best his win ratio was less than Cotts? But it's higher than Cotts' ratio is for us at the moment.
No to Worthington. Doesn't impress me at all. If SC were to depart (I truly hope he stays), what about bringing back Avram Grant - he has a certain empathy with the Pompey fans, won't cost us any compensation, and to my mind would lift the players and get them performing as a team.
Not saying I particularly want Worthington, just I think we need to start thinking who we can actually get because it looks like Cotterill is on the way to forest by all accounts.
I hope he goes to Forest, he is a truly poor manager! Would love to see any of the following: Dave Jones Alan Curbishley Phil Brown Uncle Avram Brilliant captures but completely out of our price range: Martin O'Neil Mark Hughes
SC for me if he wants to stay! Of the out of work managers available I would only want Martin O'Neill and George Graham. Both of whom we cannot afford. The above have something in common with Steve Cotterill. They are accused of playing boring, negative football! No one was complaining that Pompey were playing boring football when we went on those two excellent runs last season. Pompey beat all records for not conceding goals. Oh to be that boring again!!
Agreed in principle. However, as stated on another thread, if he has been interviewed by Forest then they must first have sought Pompey's permission. What is it they say about smoke and fire?
I am surprised to see some posters actually saying they want SC to go. I thought he had done alright by you guys. He managed to keep you up last year after certainly a dodgy start. He has got the bare minimum of players to work with.....and some of them haven't done him any great favours by getting themselves sent off have they? So why the heavy critism?
Get real you lot you're not going to attract a big name manager your club is a shambles and you'll be in league 1 next season. You'll get a lower league manager to work with your squad which according to one of your posters is "one of the best squads in the league"
Joking aside, On The Bus, it's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. Steve Cotterill is a decent lower league manager, so would be a good man to have at the helm in League One. The trouble is of course is that it is his job at the moment to see that we DON'T go to League One
ON THE BUS - you cleverly manipulated the line, what I actually said on another post was that on paper we have one of the best squads! there is a difference in its context............ PUP
Yes, you do have one of the best squads on paper, but through poor coaching and motivational skills, and poor tactical nous, SC is not getting the best of them. They SHOULD be performing alot better than they are.
Not Agent Avram? The man from UNCLE. He has already done the double the last 2 seasons. Tell me you are not interested in giving him a chance to do the "hat-trick!"
