Well, we wanted some action in the transfer / potential transfer market... seems there's quite a lot going on in the background. IF true and IF it happened, would be a good signing along with Bowyer.

would be an incredible signing. Easily good enough to be in the Prem. Just hope this isn't just wishful thinking as he would radically improve our team.

Well, he won't be getting £40,000 a week no matter where he goes.

He WILL have to take a paycut, as he hasn't done an awful lot for a couple of years now.

I'd offer £16,000 tops. Don't want to break the wage structure for a good player, however one who hasn't produced for a while.

Agree he would be a good signing, however I feel he will have better options than us. Newcastle,,,, the 3 promoted sides etc. Also, I think he has quite an ego

    http://www.fanhouse.co.uk/2011/07/0...s-a-reality-check-as-his-potential-new-emplo/

if this article has anything to go by, he's not simply on £40,000, he's on £50,000 !!!!

Seriously, the big players in football, fair enough they get the £££ they deserve. Reo Coker to me is yet another example of poor management by clubs, and how badly finances are used. It says in this article he was on £15,000 a week at West Ham, if true, why did Villa feel the need to offer him £50,000 a week !?!? Thats a 250% payrise, its absolutely obsurd what run-of-the-mill players achieve !

If he's willing to take a drastic pay-cut, and sort his attitude out then maybe. I think this deal is a non-starter.

There's as much chance of this happening as Grunt being voted Weightwatchers Slimmer of the year....

    LOL guys.. Poor ol Grunt..

Now getting back to the original post, yep a great signing if it goes ahead.. Wages though like previously, will always be an issue with players signing on for the Town.. Yes I know that we have signed 4 already, but they are at the latter end of their careers and not the start as such.. Lets see whats happens in the coming days.
