OK, let's break this down a bit. Let's just for the sake of argument, assume that Nigel gets the sack.
    1. When does he go? Appointing anyone before the next transfer window would be counter-productive, as the new boss would have no option but use the same players as Nigel.
    2. Who replaces him? I just don't believe that we could get anyone else who could motivate the team like NA obviously did for the second half today.

For these reasons I think Cortese will give Nigel at least until Christmas. He might go then if we were out of touch at the bottom but if we are still in with a shout of climbing the league he will get until the end of the season, with the backing to bring in some new players in the January window. If we still go down then, most people would get rid of Nigel, but Cortese isn't most people, and he might just have enough faith to stay with him.

    1) After the Norwich game .
    2) Redknapp until the end of the season .

Cortese I believe would sack him on the basis of what has failed to keep premiership status , most managers do get sacked for that and quite rightly so , they make the decisions and sign the players (do they ?) , only honourable they fall on their sword or get the boot .

You shouldn't sack him based on just today's performance. By the sounds of it, you could and should have come out of the game with a draw.

But 4 points from 27 is unacceptable and he could have no complaints if he did get the boot.

Without wanting to upset anyone. I think you would stay up if Adkins was replaced.

Which is why you must believe that we will get new recruits in January, players can be more expensive, but players are also coming to the end of contracts so its the last chance for teams to offload players before they can leave on a freebe. You assume NC and NA are both idiots in thinking everything was peachy, NA before the window opened said his main target was 2 CB, but nothing came from it, but to you its all thier fault for not signing players that were not available or terms could not be reached. NC does not have to answer to you or anybody else, we do not have the team to win this league but we can def survive this year and then build. If they had bought loads of players on huge saleries and we were in the same position (QPR) then you would be screaming that the over buying and high wage bill was putting the club at risk. You just like to moan and whinge, when you should be enjoying our time back with the big boys

West Brom sacked Di Matteo. The next season he won the FA Cup and Champions League with Chelsea. How would we feel if we sacked Adkins and he got given one of the top jobs (maybe not immediately) and excelled at it?

So we can not sack a manager on what possibly could happen ? You sack them on what has happened .

Gomarching apart, and I really wish he would stay apart!, I'm really pleased with the responses. Looks like the vast majority of us are still backing Nigel. A couple of wins and everything will look much rosier!

Adkins needs to get us off glorious defeats or closely fought losses and getting points. Stick with him for the present, but he needs to get consistent team performances and picking up points as a consequence. He needs to get his team-talks and tactics right from the outset - not at half-time. I like him alot and want him to stay, but I have concerns, sometimes with the tactics, the team selection and also substitutions (both the timing of and personnel). I do think he is struggling with the quality of the opposition - both players and managers, but he should be given till Christmas to sort this out.

Nigel to stay regardless of where we end up.......remember Alan Curbishly at Charlton? They stuck with him and he bounced them straight back following relegation after their first year in premiership and they came back a much stronger unit and stayed up for a number of years before sacking AC after which they plumited down to League 1

    Look familar?
