Just finished watching the interview from Nigel after the Hull game, what a genuine pleasure and privilage it is to have this man managing our football club. He is refresingly honest, not arrogant, genuinely cares about the club. The way he speaks in a calm manner about staying grounded and one game at a time. It is pure class People moaning about not starting sharp and playing Guly or Puncheon. Just enjoy it, enjoy whoever is out on that field doing the job for Southampton FC. I have not enjoyed being a part of this football club as much as I do now. The passion of the players is evident, striving most of them from bottom of league one to top of the Championship in 2-3years is magic. Trust in Nicola, Trust in Nigel, and trust in ALL the players to do whats right for the club.
Where are you posting from, mate..? I lived in NZ in the 1990s. Gore [brr - much colder than Southampton], Christchurch and Waiheke Island [wonderful]. Have old rellies in Kaikoura. Have an emailing Saints fan mate in Rotorua. That wouldn't be you, I take it. BTW, 100% agree with you.
Ah Kia ora! Im in the JAFFA land Central Auckland, however am very partial to Rotorua must be the smell! Love it here but waking up every Sunday morning at 3am listening to the Saints take its toll! Wouldnt miss listening to a game no matter what time of the day! Luckily the premiership coverage is brilliant here now 5-6 live games on weekend (knocking on wood )
Here here and I have never felt more secure as a saints supporter. Success would usually mean player or manager departure, but everyone is here for the long ride or that's how it feels. It's not as easy to enjoy the full 90 minutes in this run in as it was at the start of the season, but I wouldn't swap it for lower down the league
Nigel's tactics were perfect. We swamped midfield and caused them problems. When asked if it was a problem for players who come in after being out for 2-3 games, he said no because they train for it and are ready to go when called on. Everything well done behind the scenes as well as on the pitch. I love this fantastic football club!
I think in total, I have blamed Adkins twice for his tactics...I think the amount of times I have praised him somehow outweighs this
Everyone makes mistakes but Nigel would be the first to admit his and unlike other managers he doesn't seek to lay blame elsewhere. Top man!
This Adkins is Alex Ferguson without the attitude or negativity. And I am not a hater of AF at all. How can anyone be. Best British manager of the past 2 decades. Should hate him for being great at his job should we? Which of the 2 following comments is AF and which is NA 1 - The refereee was terrible, 2 blatant penalties, The red card was never a red card and they should have been down to 9 men by the end. The referee cost us 3 point today. 2 - I've looked at the videos and had a word with the referee because we disagree with some of the decisions, It's 3 points lost however that's part of football and we draw a blue line under it, move on and focus on the next game. Answers on a postcard to Blue Peter.
Brighton fans really really hate him. I just dont get it okay he made that one dig but apart from that ive never heard him say anything which isnt honest calm and he always gives the opposistion praise. I think id like him if he wasnt that great a manager but if he carrys on as he is (which I expect he will) then he could genuinely achieve some very very special things.
