Yes, strange to sign a player who's best attribute for us was his goal scoring, and then play him in a more defensive role, so he doesn't threaten the back of the net. It's not as if Boro's squad is packed full of world class attacking midfielders!
Now I may be wrong with this- but think Bailey is playing here due to Kevin Thomson suffering from injuries. Once he's back I'm sure he will be allowed to push on further.
I think he's permanantly changed roles, as he didn't score last season at all! Quite a turnaround for a player who scored regularly for us (including 9 in our terrible Championship season)
