Who should start next year? Surely Forestieri and Fabbrini can't play together, more specifically, who should start up front? Deeney/Forestieri, Deeey/Fabbrini, Acuna/Forestieri etc. we've signed 14 players already this summer.

    Welcome FIY <ok>

I take it from that that you are expecting 3-5-2? I'd like to think that GZ has learnt from last season and will mix things up a little - flexibility to suit the situation. Birmingham, for example, from what I have read, have been working on ways to counter that formation this pre-season & it apparently worked well against Hull last weekend. And we know only too well what the likes of Barnsley & Bristol City did against it...

Something about the letter 'B' that is worrying.... :)

    I think my starting XI against Birmingham would be;

    --------------Almunia-----------
    ---Cassetti---Ekstrand---Angella
    Faraoni---------------------Pudil
    --------Iriney---Battocchio------
    --------------Abdi--------------
    ------Deeney-----Forestieri-----

    Subs:
    Bond
    Doyley
    Anya
    Smith or Murray
    McGugan
    Fabbrini
    Acuna

Although I think Acuna might start ahead of Fessi.

Oh, and welcome to the board FIY <ok>

Your right about FF & Fabbrini not being able to play in the same side as they are both support strikers (i.e you need a centre forward not 2 SS)

I was hopeing we'd change to a 4-3-3 to accomodate the fact we have all this new firepower, but looks like we are staying with 5-3-2. So going from the Granada game Id say it will usually be this:

    GK Almunia

    CB(R): Cassetti/Doyley
    SW: Angella
    CB(L): Ekstrand

    RWB: Faraoni
    LWB: Anya

    DCM: Iriney
    CM(R): McGugan
    CM(L): Abdi

    SS: Fabrinni
    CF: Deeney

Acuna and FF on the bench

What a quality side we have.

If your starting line-up is true Salisbury, look at your bench! That's what I call strength in depth!

Thanks for the welcome haha. Zola has said when speaking to the BBC: "When you have the ability of Fabbrini it's just about fitting him into the system," said Zola.
"He does more or less what Fernando Forestieri does. They both play the position very well." I went to the Granada game on Saturday and noticed Fabbrini is definitely more of a number 10, meaning if he and Forestier were to start together there would be little runs in behind defences as they both prefer to receive the ball to their feet. Deeney and Acuna would definitely be a more direct line up. I also noticed that our shape depended upon Faraoni's positioning, at times he would push high up the pitch alongside Deeney making us more 4-3-3 (with Fabbrini behind Deeney), however, sometimes he would play alongside Doyley in defensive phases rather than ahead of him, and therefore more 3-5-2. Sorry for the essay haha.

I think you're spot on with that line-up - although, how many 'home grown' players do we need to include? I suppose that Bond, Murray and Smith on the bench would cover that...

Damm we're drawing the game and not playing so well, looks like I'll have to bring on Acuna and Forestieri

Remember those seasons when we had people like Liam Henderson on our bench??

    Bloomin eck!!
