Next Season Expectations

what expectations do the NUFC fans have for next season? It would be interesting to know.

Myself, i would prefer to finish top 5 then win the europa or any cup. dont know why lol maybe im weary of trying to win cups at the expensive of the league position. If we won a cup id be happy with top 8 in the league.

 

First thing's first - we need to avoid relegation!

This season has been amazing and the lads have far exceeded my expectations. But we can't just assume that will roll into next year, so I'd agree a top 8 finish would be great.

To win a cup or finish in top 5 / 6 again would be a fantastic bonus. Personally, I'd rather win a cup and finish 8th than finish 5th with no silverware next season.

 

Anything less than a league and cup double will be a failure to me.

 

AB - is that Champions League, or Premier League, or both? (although that would mean a trebble with a domestic too)

 

I'd be happy with top 8 and a decent cup run, perhaps even winning a cup.

 

European run that lasts into 2013, Cup run where we get to at least one quarter final and a top 8 finish would do me nicely

Realistic - top 6 again as everyone else will strengthen

Top 6 again. You have to try to at least maintain your current position. Really you need to be looking to better it. That is not beyond the realms of possibility with our scouting but I think you have to accept that it is very compeititve at the top of the PL

 

My expectation for next season is the same as this season. There's no reason why we can't be 'best of the rest' i.e. 7th place.

Who knows we may continue and mix it with the big spenders again, here's to hoping!

By any chance are you in a band otters pocket? Just because my mates dad is in a band called that.

 

Depends totally on what transfers happen. IF we strengthen and Liverpool, Spurs don't then we can aim for 5th imo. However, I expect those two to strengthen a lot, and Chelsea under decent management will be a force again, so 7th is realistic. The best of the rest.

 

Repeat of this season, so going for 2014 we will be an established top 6 team, we'll be a bigger draw for players. Cup run would be nice, but i think that establishing ourselves in that 4-8 position pack. If we are serious, we can't fall back into our old habits of trying to push ourselves into that top bracket to quickley, attracting the wrong type of players and putting ourselves back into 2008/09 all over again!!

Perfect season for me - Top 8 finish, good domestic cup runs (maybe even win one if we don't shoot ourselves in the foot against lower league opposition), a good show in Europe and the double over Sunderland.
