We’ve done all we can for now. Before we play again - Sheffield Wednesday play three more matches - Barnsley play their two games in hand - Plymouth play Accrington The good news is, - either (or both) Barnsley or Sheffield Wednesday must at least drop two points - the best Barnsley can do is draw level on points - if Plymouth fail to win then we can go into second against Derby whatever else happens - any match any of them fail to win is a gain for Town in the table.
I think a Barnsley win would be good. There (owls) other 2 games look like nailed on 6 points. Let's hope Accrington are playing for their lives.
If you havent heard Jim Magilton & David Sheepshanks, do listen to Life's a Pitch, 18th March. Powerful stuff, great memories, he speaks highly of KM too. Mark Murphy, BBC sounds, starts 2hrs 6 approx.
Four strong teams vying for 2 autos. Anybodys guess. We just gotta keep doing our own business. They will all drop points, as will we. But no-one will fancy playing us.
Plymouth have been dropping a lot of points, so they might go on to finish strongly. Sheffield Wednesday’s bubble might have burst or the pressure might get to them - but they are in pole position. All four are in it but Barnsley and us are playing catch up so that game is absolutely massive.
No doubt this will be seen as a load of old billox in certain quarters(ahem!).But I think it makes comforting reading,we’re in it for the long run! https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town...ill-be-relentless-in-taking-this-club-forward
We will get there one way or another with this leadership I’ve no doubt. Even down to rebuilding the pitch, they are putting right absolutely everything critical to the football club that Evans neglected. We always said the loan system would never help us build a team and now look how quickly we’ve been able to assemble a genuinely brilliant squad of players.
just reading some of the comments under it, people talking about no one would want us in the play offs, a day out at Wembley etc... have they actually looked at our record in the play offs ? I went to the first one back in 87 ? home & away to Charlton (played at Selhurst Park if I remember correctly). We need to avoid them like the plague !!!
