As others have said, if we can win the next few and keep the pressure on Plymouth, we might well be in top 2 by end April.

Two very tasty dates coming up.

    TUESDAY 21ST MARCH
    • Accrington Stanley v Plymouth Argyle
    • Barnsley v Sheffield Wednesday
    SATURDAY 25TH MARCH
    • Barnsley v Ipswich Town

With 10 games to go, if we can win 8, draw 1 and lose just the 1, then we should be in the frame with 97 pts.

Looking at everyone's fixtures list, Plymouth have by far got the easiest run in....on paper,.but as we know, it doesn't always work out that way, as im.sure there will teams down the bottom fighting for their lives.
As others have mentioned, we just need to take care of our own games, and let Plymouth stress about theres.
If we can come out of the next 4 games (Shrewsbury, Barnsley, Derby & Wycombe) in a no worse position, then I'd fancy our chances of top two.

We could also be in the odd position of getting 100 points, and still not getting promoted

100 pts and not promoted must be unheard of!

With the International break coming end of March we have 3 likely absentees if they get called up. Key players, Morsy, Broadhead and Leigh. If there are 3 confirmed, we can ask for a postponement of the Barnsley game.

What do you all think? My hunch is we will certainly miss Morsy and Broadhead.

I think if we do have three called up, then guaranteed we'll postpone the Barnsley game.
Worst case scenario would be only two get called up, and two of Morsy, Burns and Broadhead.
Leigh missing won't make much of a difference, unless Davis gets an injury

Not sure Gaffer, Barnsley have a very busy period, Wycombe away then Owls at home, then us, then Exeter away the following Tuesday. I know we are really only interested in Plymouth to be fair, but it would be nice to see the wheels come off the Barnsley charge.
would that be a nice break for the other players not involved ? or would we risk losing our momentum ?

I am sure the management team will have a plan, perhaps bribe Egypt to recall King Morsy!

Uh oh - Burns and Broadhead called up.
Please let Leigh (or Morsy) also called up, otherwise we could well be weakened for the crunch Barnsley game

It will have to be Hirst & Freddie up front and Edwards down the right.

Hopefully Morsy or Leigh will get a call up to make it three and we can get the match postponed - missing Broadhead and Burns in those attacking midfield places would definitely have an impact, particularly against a fellow promotion chasing side in Barnsley.

Regarding fixtures to keep an eye on - Accrington vs Portsmouth tonight is intriguing. An away win for Portsmouth would put a dent on Accrington's play off hopes and may have a negative impact for them when they travel to Portman Road on the weekend. However, if they lose to both Pompey and us, then they might not be massively up for that Plymouth match next week. So I'm hoping they beat Pompey and we're too good for them on Saturday - keeps that Plymouth match spicy.

Also, Sheffield Wednesday vs Bolton on Friday night is worth keeping an eye on. Defeat for Wednesday could then snowball into two losses on the bounce as they go to Barnsley on that Tuesday night game next week.

Probably Jackson on the right, or Clarke and bring JD in as the right sided CB - but what about KVY (remember him?).
Could also bring Sone in, if hes fit

Yes, I meant Jackson down the right, he has been ripping it up. I do wonder whats happened to KVY and Aluko. Talented players.

We should play on regardless. We have plenty of strength in depth and stacking up fixtures won’t help us, especially with the momentum we have built up. Players will step up. The ones who are away will be buzzing and glad to be home afterward.

I tend to agree Hampy, and Barnsley have Sheff Weds the Tuesday before, so we can really stuff their campaign!

It,s called care in the community, I did look at the table & wonder how Accrington were going to be awarded 30 points for a win, but I just bowed down to Nuggets superior knowledge on that sort of thing <laugh>

I've confused myself by putting Accrington and Shrewsbury together in my mind!

In short, I shouldn't post on here when I've had a busy day at work. Now I'm going to have check what I've written for work and see if there's any damage there <laugh>
