In all seriousness £4m for Chester makes sound business sense. That's 8 times what we paid not 12 months previously. I know he is our best player, but £4m could buy possibly 3-4 top quality replacements. I would imagine Man U would be pleased with that fee too as they would get nearly £1m due to a probable 25% sell on clause
Yes but they never had pre season or a full season, if we get rid of Chester there will be plenty of players we can afford that play at CB
Didn't Adam Pearson come out with a quote saying '1.5 million wouldn't buy Stewart right leg ' or something like that ? That's what I was referring to. His quote indicating he thought Stewart was a wonderfull player. And it's clear to everybody, he is not !
To be honest - in January Stewart was a world beater. No one would have accepted that bid. Hindsight is great isn't it!
Dowie was a ****e appointment, but is his track record really poor? I remember being disappointed about Little leaving, but being excited about Molby coming in, Parkinson was rated as the next big thing and everyone was raving about getting him at the time too and he appointed Brownie and Taylor. The fact is that all the managers he ever appointed seemed like a good option at the time(other than Dowie), anyone can be a clever **** with the benefit of hindsight.

I agree with this, also he has 'bounced' after his injury which was one that takes a while to get over, probably adrenaline got him through his first matches back.
