I can't see him not fully being committed if we do not allow him to go.. they are pro footballers.. look at the over priced clowns in the rem at present Stones eat all committed even tho they want a move. It is in their best interest to perform. If the offer is good for the club and Reid want's it, no point trying to get him to stay. Brent and co have stood up to them for once.. happy about that. There could be more players being looked at come January if we keep going well..

Remember....the transfer window doesn't close until 6pm on Tuesday Sept 1st.

If Reid did go ...we would definately need to replace him before the window closed.....we would be lightweight up front otherwise.

The full story from my secret source at the WMN says:

Derek Adams believes the Football Association

should intervene after his Portsmouth counterpart Paul Cook publicly expressed an interest in Plymouth Argyle striker Reuben Reid.

Portsmouth have regularly been linked with Reid – the Pilgrims’ top scorer for the past two seasons – over recent months.

Cook admitted his interest in Reid for the first time before Pompey’s 2-1 win away to Luton Town on Saturday.

But he also ruled out Reid moving to Fratton Park before the transfer window closes at 6pm tomorrow.

    Cook said: “We are actively

after players who can make us better but there are two sides to every story. There is. Reuben is a Plymouth player.

“If someone comes after one of our players you respect it. We have been interested in the lad (Reid) and it hasn’t seen us obtain the lad. So everyone should mark the sand and move on.”

    This suggests to me:

    1. Portsmouth have made an approach to PAFC for Reid
    2. They've been told to go away in uncertain terms or have been told "yes but at a price" and they don't like the price
    3. They've given up this time around
    4. They've nevertheless decided to unsettle the player by making a public pronouncement, which is unacceptable
    5. They don't feel their offer has been met with respect. He's our player under contract so respect is neither here nor there. If they can't pay the price, don't make a bid.

I already said I wasn't picking on Brent notdistant. We are a selling club and always have been for the right money and sometimes for the wrong money as well, I'm merely saying that I don't think Brent is any different from all the rest. As for football contracts and clubs not wanting something have you seen today's news? De Gea IS off to Real Madrid despite all the protestations of "Oh no he isn't" and that's Man U losing out not a two bit league 2 side. Anyone on here believe Stone won't get transfered if not now in the near future. Everton just holding out for a few more quid is all. You all know it and I know it, the football contract is worth absolutely nothing or even the paper it's written on.

I can't see it happening this window or the next,, we need to get him a better contract sorted. As for the rem players they hold out until the last minute, Stones could go as well as that kid at West from to spurs, then there is Southampton saying the other two won't go.. they sell more than any other club i believe..
The window should close the start of the season and this won't happen..

The length of a football match to go not including any extra time and nothing in the bushes has stirred. Not a sound to be heard anywhere so it is looking more and more like the story was a damp squib from the start. Good is all I will say to that and hope this post hasn't started something by tempting fate.

Maybe Adams speaking out about Portsmouth and their managers underhanded approach scotched any official action taking place.
