Mate, I love your passion and never say die attitude and, as per my other posts, I'm still a believer (or blind deluded fool) who thinks we may still do it. I fully agree that we can now beat anyone. The problem is we're running our of games. Onwards and upwards and I hope the team show the determination and skill you've credited them with.
TF says he's going nowhere - so if we go down the key is keeping 'Arry as boss. He'll sort it - with him in charge we'll come back up, I'm sure of it. He's been around too long to stand for anyone swinging the lead.. besides I ain't quite given up yet with this season
This is the key, it's strongly rumoured that if we go down Harry is off to West Ham. Another change of manager would leave us in turmoil once again. The next two games are vital for us as two wins would have us piling the pressure on those just above us...
Excellent post! I have been suffering since Saturday, have hardly looked at the internet and have avoided this forum. I am starting to feel optimistic again, but also feeling positive about a likely one season (hopefully) in the Championship. If we keep Harry and most of the quality we have we should be far too strong for the second tier. Our club is not Pompey, or even Wolves. No worries!
Agree with DT....We are top the league will be echoing around Loftus road once again....Hill, Derry and Mackie providing the core spirit needed in the championship. Plenty of other players left to provide a touch of class even with the few who will leave. I'll be there as usual but i think i will move to R block....
Just been listening to Robbie Savage on radio. There was an impassioned plea from an eloquent Blackburn supporter for all real footie fans to sympathise with their club and what the Venky's are doing, or perhaps not doing, to it as the case may be. Sounds like they could make thir own compelling version of 'The Four Year Plan'. I did feel sorry for the fan who felt that going into admin would be good if it got rid of the Venkys. It also made me very grateful for Amit and TF who, thankfully, are about as different as one can be from the Blackburn owners. I do think, to answer my own OP, that it will be more like Newcastle (unless that little bit of belief that some of us hold produces a miracle!) though it may take more than one season to get us back.
I'd think it will depend on who you can bring in rather than who stays. Presumably the younger PL signings are going to be wanting to get out and preserve their international careers, other than England which of the major nations in terms of your squad has called up a player from the Championship recently? Take those away and you're looking at a similar squad to what you had last time, but 3 years older than at the start of your last promotion campaign. The Championhip has gone down hill a long way since we were promoted in 2008, but I'm not sure the likes of Derry are going to be able to handle regular starts in a Championship season.
Ricardo, I hear where you're coming from. BUT. We all thought he would be useless when we signed him. He wasn't. We all thought he couldn't handle the Premiership. He could. We all thought he was too old this year. He isn't. We've hopefully learnt our lesson.
Harry wont bring you back up just like he has failed to keep you up im sorry to say, He is tactically inept with no clue of the modern game. spurs saints pompey all found that out and got rid, others have also been taken in by his spin and have all let him go..... If you believe him that he did not have enough time to keep you up then you will deserve to keep him as lets be fair he has had plenty of time and your still miles behind 4th from bottom team. Any other manager who keeps up with the modern game would have got you well safe by now with the players you have on your books but harry plays as if it was the 80's or 90's and where you are proves his coaching skills are old hat that any team with less ability players can beat qpr as your league position shows. you know like everyone else that the championship has some very good teams so to think you will come straight back up is going to be really hard and the odds against you doing that will be very slim but even worst if you rely on harry to do it....
god forbid no, he was mentioned once a few years ago but thank god we went in a different direction and went the route of the modern continental style and even though everytime we lose a manager because a bigger club want him because of what he was doing with swansea we wont employ a manager that wants to change our style of football, We employ someone who can add to our game and improve our game further, as everyone can see we are doing that very successfully. I look at qpr's squad and can see you have some very good players and there is no way you should be where you are but it all points to mark hughes coaching philosophy and even worse old harry's style......for smallish teams like qpr and swansea then we are not going to survive playing 80's 90's style football in the best league in the world and never will no matter how good the players are. Im sorry to see you where you are but its all down to the manager at the end of the day and that is the way football is today. ....will harry bring you back up??? not in a million years he wont, you could end up like wolves, coventry and leeds who all was sure they would come straight back up but struggled because their managers were useless...
is that your educated response.....jeez son thank god qpr have some posters who can debate or we would all struggle to string together more than 2 words....back to school son you obviously need it..
