When we first signed him he had a lot of doubters, but i always knew he was too good for us. We are holding him back as he should be in the spain squad

Hmm..I'm hoping it's only agreed because Pieters/another LB is definitely joining.

holding him back? He played most games for us in front of 52,000 fans showcasing his talents to the world..... now he's going to the bin dippers and will spend some games warming the bench. The only thing that got held back was silly wages by fat mike that's why he is ultimately going.... cos the bin dippers are digging a massive financial hole for themselves by trying to keep up with MAN UTD et al.

I just thought the fee could've been higher. I'm resigned to the fact that clubs like ours lose their best players from time to time, but I hate it when it's for relative peanuts.

if someone doesnt want to be here, well then, good luck and all the best, great player happy for the service he put in, this team needs players who want to be here and we would have had a season of a mopey player not giving it his best as he doesnt want to be here. lets hope a replacement is on the way.

I think we all know that no matter how good someone plays for newcastle, they dont get the same recognition in the media and wider football world as someone who plays for one of the more glamorous clubs

    Bullshit. I hate that statement.

We made him the player he is, he is not too good for us. How do we hope to progress if we keep believeing that some players are beyond us

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we had Raylor at RB and Simpson at LB until the January transfer window.

With great difficulty. But for years, we've watched our best players being sold. They want Europe and the massive wages, and we can't offer them that.
