Interesting final paragraph saying they are still in discussions with the FSF about pricing. Unless those discussions end today then the membership prices can't change until at least November. So, does this mean that anyone wanting to watch City now has to first have a Match Card? If so, that kills it for many who might just want to turn up (be they locals or visitors)? Or have I got that wrong? (God, I hope so). I can't remember the last time I went to the KC watch City. To be honest, I'm now wondering if I'll ever bother going again. Started going in '69. Feeling increasingly like it really is over.

I guess the first time you buy a ticket you'll just get a card instead. Then if you go again you'll just re-use the card which is surely easier than having to print tickets or pay postage for tickets each time?
Until you arrive at the scanner and it doesn't open the turnstile, then you have no prove of purchase.

Those discussions about price are going to take ages in my opinion. The club are saying they want some national demographic data from the FSF. I don't really understand why but they think this is really important to their pricing.

Yes that does seem to be the case Driff You need to register to buy tickets and then when you've registered you get a Match Card posted to you Then you can get tickets loaded onto that Match Card (it doesn't mention any print at home options) So woe betide anyone who might decide to go to one game without allowing for enough time for City to process your application, City to post your card and then the Post Office to deliver your card...if you fancy a Christmas game then you'd better get cracking! Oh and by the way if you decided to take someone visiting from out of town then they have to do the same because it is one card per person. (best to simply get everyone you know and anyone who are your family or know any of your family to all register for a card just in case...fairly straight forward) Should keep the riff raff and tourists out....
It's almost like they don't want to make a decision (like the crest). and have taken the ball to the corner flag to run down the clock.
I recently heard a great business presentation (from a guy from a major international blue chip) where one of the key themes was making processes as easy as possible, even enjoyable, for new starters and for employees throughout their stay with the company. Design of their processes was from the perspective of making the experience as easy as reasonably possible for the employee, whilst still of course achieving what the business needed . Pretty obvious common sense stuff, but what is common sense is very often not common practice. It seems 'our' club just go out of their way to do the opposite. And we are talking about customers, not 'just' employees (without customers there isn't a need for employees). The general idea of a card is a pretty good one ..... so long as you are a regular., and so long as you confidently use technology. But where is the 'as easy as we can make it' process for the occasional attender, for those who are not able to use, or comfortable using. or trusting of, technology? If we were selling out it might be a different case ..... but we are not. We will be lucky to get 10k next season. But hey, nobody tells them how to run the club #bestrunclubinthecountry
What they really meant to say was 'An innovative new way to piss off more fans and lower attendances even further'
I think the CEO of the Mirror group should have attended that presentation. He also seems to be from the school of "how to make your local newspaper websites as inhospitable as possible to deter traffic from making you money".
