What do you think first signs? We need another striker. DG was embarrassing. Didn't track runners no effort on his crosses first chance was a pass back, second one was like taking a penalty and he put it straight at the keep, Strikers shouldn't have miss either of them. The CM, needs either Giacc or Alvarez on the pitch at all times. The back three should be fine once they sort out who going to step out with the attacker who's dropping short. Want to see more of the system and will give it a chance but we're definitely a striker short. We had a 3rd sub Gus took too long to use and that really annoyed my. Can we please play a midfielder in the system who can actually feed the front two? Giacc or Alvarez form me. I fear for AJ in this system, don't see where he fits but it's not in the middle. Spurs deserved the win and got it over all. Kane is some player.

Worst linesman i've ever seen btw <laugh>

Defoe looks good, but the system does not work, we should just go 442, have Fletch or Wickham drop off into the hole to make a 451 when defending then 442 when going forward. 3 at the back does not work for us or for the players we have. Jones for instance is not a wing back. We need players like Giacc on the pitch. I thought Johnson was decent today, if Giacc had been on the other wing we would have had a lot more creativity.

Gus needs to get it right and get it right quickly.

I liked it, spurs were a bit of a powerhouse tbh, pants made great saves, we also created goal scoring scenario's, fletch will be kicking himself, i think it will work, need a lennon for me like

All in all i'm ok with the defeat, burnley game is massive, hopefully be healed in time to attend

Great post fella. I'm behind it too. Need more depth upfront though and someone central who can create but It's a formation I've always wanted to see us play. It's Gus' preferred system too. I remember him saying when he joined us. Hate DG me :p

Spurs got a lucky start from a wicked deflection.

The chance Fletch missed Jozy could have scored and that`s going some. Grahams first chance was poor, the second produced a very good save.

Spurs are a very good side and fully deserve to be right up there.

More tweaking Gus but improved I reckon.

Thought PVA was still rusty and will get better.

Catts will improve us of course. The system should give us chance to get AJ on the ball centrally and in most games that will be very dangerous. He didn't get enough today but Spirs midfield are very good.

We had the 3 clearest chances.

The system leaves us exposed to width and spurs got in easily just didn't produce killer ball from Rose/Walker

How the hell did Spurs score their second goal on the break ?, we don't go forward. And Brown and O Shea have to go now after this disaster. Yet again only one team wanted to win, win the Burnley game or Gus and Short out as far as I am concerned, frigging inept right through the whole club, back to the Murray days an unbelievable negative team, and we have not spent any money yet as Altidor was swapped and want big money spent or we are doomed, and this time supporters will not come back.

I'd be happy if some supporters wouldn't come back.

    3-5-2 v Burnley

    ---------Vergini JOS Wes

    Jones Seb Catts PVA
    -------------AJ

    -------Defoe Fletcher

I have every confidence that team wins the game.

AJ JD and fletch are really top forward players. Catts will offer so much more urgency than Rod did.

Width from 2 attacking wing backs on their natural sides.

I have serious reservations over Vergini still. Horrific attempted clearance for their 1st.

Very encouraged by the performance today and thought we were unlucky, we looked a different team in the first half, the system worked to an extent and will work better the fitter Defoe gets and the more we play it.

We wont come up against teams as fluent and pacey as Spurs every week, but if we keep playing the higher line we will fare better against lesser teams.

We looked a very good team going forward and got the distances between our lines right, but we still do silly things at the back and give the ball away too easily (wtf was PVA doing playing that back pass without looking up in the first half).

Very impressed with Defoe but I thought Larsson was our man of the match, I am looking forward to seeing the new system against Fulham and then Burnley.

Aye can't argue with most on here, playing 2 up top really made us look like scoring today more than normal and I don't think we looked any defensively weakened. Big test is against the teams around us especially at home where we have to set the tempo.

Both linesman just waited for Foy to make the decision for them. To make matters worse Foy was toss as well.

I've said it before, but the standard of officiating in the league is ****ing awful and depressing
