We might need to look for someone to replace Ked's so I will throw a name into the mix and prove just how dementia can have curious power over rational thought. Devante McKain. When I have seen him play he is big and strong enough to upset opposition CB's which will free up space for Cody, he has the ability to be a target man, he is ok on the ball, he can defend from the front, what more could we want from a striker except goals and he has shown he can even do that.
What like when Nyron went up front and scored 2 then everyone started saying how that was a solution before realising it was a massive fluke. I would certainly prefer a more natural option, as well as giving Luke Norris a chance to impress.
McKain does appear to have the potential attributes of a striker but in a way so does Linganzi. I agree with GMAD and say we give Norris a chance, he's looked very good when I've seen him try to make an impact.
Certainly agree with allowing Norris the opportunity, he looked very dangerous against Newcastle and other than Stevenage hasn't had much playing time. German should be allowed some time as well, whilst he can be annoyingly lazy on the pitch at points his cross at the death in Coventry shows that he has got SOMETHING to offer; as to what it is I don't know. God, he can be frustrating. We have got options in place could always sign Heskey? He's free and advertising himself on soccer AM Hahahahahahahaahahahahaaaaaa! *Wheeze*.
I agree with Gillslad, why don't we try something new. Even the most ardent Cody fan admits that he needs a target man to play with, if we haven't got a target many why not try Norris and German up front? They linked well together pre-season and offered more than an isolated Cody going forward on Friday night. If it doesn't work we can always go back to lumping long, pointless balls upto McDonald
Your going to be in trouble when Gemini see's this ....I'm not saying a word because your just trying to encourage me and get me in trouble...I agree with u Hopefully Gemini aint got his glasses on
We certainly need a taller presence up front. McGlashan does look very useful, but there's no point in bombing down the wing and putting crosses in if they are going to favour the defence rather than our attack. I know, not every ball in has to be a high cross, but it would be nice to have the option.
Did I see that DJ Cambell is looking for a club? I'm not entirely sure of what happened with him. Worth a shot?
He was very closely linked with the match fixing scandal that Delroy Facey was found guilty of, a bit of a awkward one, good player but a bit too much history and negative press.
My choice would be Enoch Showumni who most recently played for Notts County, not the most inspiring of choice but is a big physical striker that we lack without Kedwell and seeing as Bayo didn't sign a deal. Maybe a short 3 month deal to tide us over till Kedwell is fit again and we all know how well Cody plays in the big man little man style of strike force.
He's been cleared of any wrong doing though. He seems to tick all the right boxes for me and could be just what we need. At league 1 level he could be a gem. I'm sure we've discussed players with worth history in the past. Just thought it was an option.
I know it could be incredibly ignorant on my part but I've adopted a no smoke without fire in relation to match fixing it just seems that the investigation centered in on a few players which makes me a bit uncomfortable with the situation. I am well aware I'm in the wrong with a viewpoint like this but cant seem to shake it off! Agree he is a good player though.
We signed Marlon King when he had already a reputation. DJ Campbell would be very useful for this level and may push Cody a bit more to do better. Showumni is probably a more likely and viable option though and one that would enable the best out of Cody.
Well that's in no way what I said, I simply said I find it a 'bit uncomfortable' I didn't say anything about him being guilty, I may admittedly be ignorant when it comes to this but there is no need to be so dismissive.
