New Stadium Ideas..

I would hope that we can still get a new stadium as I believe that is the best way forward if we are to grow as a club.

Top one is Ashton Vale at 42000 mate even if its gets built in its first stage it could be ??? fifty years before it was ever considered. the second is a mock up for plans that dont appear to exist.

 

All I hope for is it's based on something like Anfield, Villa Park or White Hart Lane but most importantly a proper score board I hate that thing above the wedlocks just looks old and ****. What's wrong with at least filling the two corners with proper score boards with the match on it?

 

In an ideal world I would love for someone to come out and say tomorrow morning. Right you've got the new ground, You can start your build TODAY now as this will never happen I would like to see AG re designed. I would rather move into our new ground but its just taking too long!

when i seen the liverpool pic i liked it 1st but then i noticed it had no corners which loses out on capacity which made me dislike it.

not sure why thats funny shiny lol, im just being honest. i prefer the shape to AV over UWE which makes AV look better than UWE to me.

UWE wins hands down on everything else though

 

A question for anyone who was at Cardiff v City recently;

Apart from the mostly male population which seems to still be the norm behind the goals, what sort of mix were those in the stands along the touchline?
Still mostly male or families/couples with their children. Where the children make up 20 to 30% of the total in those areas?
The reason I ask is because many BCFC fans have said there wasn't much atmosphere at the game and blame the stadium design.
But my last visit to the Millenium was for the Autumn Friday game with Samoa. Yes, I know Wales were poor that night, but at least 30% and maybe even as high as 40% in places, were children. Families with children do not make lots of noise in the same way that an adult crowd will.

So BCFC fans, even if we get better acoustics than CCFC stadium, the atmosphere will depend on the mix of the crowd.

Was a mixture really, Being in the corner obviously our vision is limited to who we can seem, Mainly familys to the left of us and to the right would be all the blokes or our EE sort type of people. Overall it was a terrible atmosphere on there behalf winning the game and top of the league, Yet you couldn't hear a thing from them.

 

To the left was the family section just sat there. To the right was what was left of their lads, mostly males and hardly noisy. The worst atmosphere I have ever experienced from 20000+ home fans when their side was winning.

There are high ratios of kids and families in the EE numberwise v dolman - williams. The stand also has a high number of lads v say people in shirts. Different feel [sound] altogether v the other three stands, more communal and tolerant.

 

A obvious reason to design an area that will best achieve that.

 

Am I the only City fan who doesn't really care about the new stadium?

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing I would want more than seeing 40000 City fans roaring the team on as we slip 3 past Man United, but we are a long way from that. We can't fill the stadium we have, let alone rattle around in a 30-40k seater.

Those millions would be better spent on players, in order to generate the DEMAND for a new home.

As a city fan I will support any new stadium decision, but if I were in the boardroom I would concentrate available funds on improving our PRODUCT, not our premises.

 

I agree, I would rather have a revamped AG to a capacity that won't look like the Ricoh whenever we played them it just looked empty for the crowds to be announced and it's more than we get at the moment.
People say we will get a big crowd but I think thats looking through rode tinted glasses we had big crowds back in the 70's but then it was affordable and no tv games. Times have changed big crowds are only there for the big draws.

No team in the south of England would be likely to pull those numbers in when playing in the NPC, let alone if the unthinkable happens and we drop a league.
Get to the Prem and perhaps the crowds will come. Even then though they would all away again if we got relegated straight away.
I realise this sounds all doom and gloom, but it is reality as I see it having followed this club for 40+ years.
