There must be some quality there. Mis management took them down, or was at least a massive part of it. Of the top of my head: Sylvan Ebanks-Blake Adam Hammill Jamie O’Hara Maybe worth a look at? I'm sure others will know the squad a bit better than me
Sako n Karl Henry I would have. Bucks the discipline of 2 of the 3 players that you mentioned was a big factor in why they went down. Poor attitude and drinking problems. Hammil twatted a paramedic and Ohara is just a bellend
It's a shame about O'Hara as he's a great player. You're right though, we don't want that sort of attitude in the squad. We've been there and done that.
I think we've got enough negative attitude in the squad without importing any more. We want winners & fighters, not guys who've had the fight knocked out of them.
Fair enough I did say I dont know a lot about them there probably on a decent pay packet as well, although that will have to change either way now.
Sako seem a quality player, definitely take him. If we can get him cheap, then it'd be a great transfer. Like people have said, it's a bit different from Pompey - who were a poor team - because some of these guys were Premier League a year ago, and it was poor management that took them down. Guys like O'Hara have talent but a poor attitude. I've always like Karl Henry, but only because of his tackles really. We already have Austin, do we need Henry? A quality ball player in the centre is what we need more than another hatchet man. Ebanks Blake is a good player at this level, but with Poleon, McCormack and Morrison, do we need him? Prefer to see us sign a quality striker than someone who isn't really better than what we have.
I would jump at the chance to get any of these guys: Hennessey GK Berra/Baath-Centre back Henry - Centre Mid Doyle/Ebanks-Blake -Striker Wingers? Sako might be ok, but dont really know much about him
Sako by far and away is there best player and coincidentally exactly what we need at leeds united. There is speak of him going to the prem though, but if we can get in there then definitely worth a shot. I do think even though they are relegated he will still cost a bit, I would take Berra too but probably more as a back-up. The rest I wouldn't really touch, maybe Johnson but he doesn't seem half the player he was when he was in the prem so I don't think I'd go near him to be honest.
Steven Hunt would be a good signing, and McD knows him from his time at Reading - straight swap with Morison
Kevin Doyle has only scored 27 goals in his 6 seasons at Wolves - shocking record for a forward. Think there are better pickings from Peterborough - Tomlinson would be a great signing for any Championship team
My GF and her family are all Wolves supporters. They are mostly an over rated shower of sh*te! Henry is one of the worst midfielders going about and just passes the ball backwards. O Hara is a joke on about 30k a week. Roger Johnson (read above) Doyle doesn't score enough goals. You have to remember that these guys have got their team relegated twice and even lost to Luton in the FA cup. They refused to play for Solbakken saying his style did not suit them. Henry said that Saunders was what they needed when he got appointed because they could start playing Championship football (ie. hoofball) They still never turned up. Collectively, the players mentioned above are a bunch of gutless cowards who I would NEVER want to see in a Leeds. The only half decent players they have are as follows.... Hunt (he at least gives his all) But we can't afford his wages. SEB (I think he could score 15-20 goals IF he got himself fit and layed off the KFC) Sako is just a headless chicken. Not sure if he is what we really need. Siggurdson (This is a player with a future) Bath (very good potential with a good attitude) I would consider SEB, Bath, and Siggurdson. They could fit into the squad and do a job. The rest are not worth ****. (your wolves mole)
After posting the above, I did have a more serious thought. One of Wolves problems this season was keeping a lot of Mick McCarthy's old signings on board. It created a couple of cliques in the dressing room between them and the new Solbakken signings. I just hope Warnock's favourites like Brown and Kenny don't cause any problems when Brian Mac brings in his own new players. He did hint in one of his interviews that a few issues needed sorting out. I would personally get rid of Kenny and Brown for that very reason (even if it means loaning them out) cheers
