Is the template one of the reasons Cortese cancelled?[/QUOTE] I might be way off pace picking this up now.... Just wondered as to the reason behind the Adidas contract being cancelled. I've read some of the stories regarding supply issues then there are the more obvious problems such as shade of red, the god-awful template, the gold print and the sheer cost..... Just wondered the thinking behind the cancelled contract.
Getting the impression that it was maybe down to corteses maniacal tendencies..... Laughing like a cartoon villain as he hung up on adidas after giving them the boot...!! Will be interesting with a new manufacturer and sponsor in tow..... Any ideas on timeline....? I know there's generally more important things to sort before the shirt, but I recognise the futility in predicting anything until a decision has been made about MoPo.
I've been more than willing to stick the boot in on NC commercially, but not over this. He was entitled and right to make this decision.
Just out of interest.... Were a lot of the reported problems down to one side or the other...? I've always had the impression from a few places that the template caused a few issues and almost that the manufacturer couldn't cope with the amount they took on so quickly with the demise of umbro..
I think I've made it fairly clear that NC isn't to blame for this deal ending!! As I said, once the new kit is out I can explain in full.
Then wait I will.... Not trying to create mischief.... Always found the shirts an interesting off season distraction with a fair amount of reminiscing involved...!! Whatever happens, new sponsor, new manufacturer plus the other "minor" issues..... Gonna be a busy summer...!!
Laura Ashley? I see a more pastel red and a looser, more billowy top. The material I have in mind would have the advantage that when an opponent pulled on it, it would rip from the torso with ease, simultaneously thrilling Fran and gaining us a penalty. It's a win-win.
As long as they are aware that dropped waists are all the rage in Paris this season....the waisted look is so last year.
I tend to go for the waisted look at the weekends and it never impresses anybody. I just hope the designers at Armani capture the Saints style
Bearing in mind the amount of shirt pulling that goes on (especially at corners/free kicks), why don't we go for the tight fitting shirts similar to the rugby players wear. Nothing for defenders to get hold of when making runs Oh and our girlies will appreciate the new look (& a few of our guys too I guess!)
