New owners have said they will conduct a thorough review of the operation. This really isn't going to take long is it? Marketing Department? None PR Department? None Payroll? None Ticket Office? Needs Improving Admin Department? Needs Improving Hospitality Department? Needs Improving Ground? Needs Improving Training Ground? Needs Improving Academy? Needs Improving 1st Team? Needs Improving Development Squad? None Academy? None Should take 2 hours tops. Steve handed P45 by tomorrow
Amanda almost looks over awed arriving at the ground. Can you imagine 2 days running if they announce Bruce has gone today #MORECANS
Stadium will serve us for the foreseeable but I do think the fans need to prepare for that moving eventuality. Its just difficult to expand. However maybe a deal can be done with council and surrounding areas, that sees the heritage buildings protected (I must admit I'd be against us demolishing anything like that). It is possible if you have the money to move things elsewhere. We have the money To be honest the size of the task at hand is immense due to Ashley's lack of investment. Its just great to have professional people aiming for the best of the best. The whole of the North East is gonna benefit. Putting all rivalry aside, its massive for the whole local economy.
They know its a full project rather than just splashing cash on the team, which is good. A full set up has needed updating for years (the academy is dross and the club facilities are dire), so it's actually good they have a blank slate to start with.
I said last night, one of the best things about this is the academy. Seeing an academy set up that young lads desperately want to be part of. Seeing those lads coming through and getting into the first team will be so satisfying.
Agree but I’d like to think they will prioritise local or localish kids rather than simply buying in from the world. Not sure what restrictions now exist on last point.
I think she already knows, she said we have good enough players we shouldn't be 19th, he's on death row
Was indeed and I think that would still be the plan. At least its retained in the city. Or the Saudis can simply carefully dismantle all the listed buildings, situate them elsewhere, give the folk a load of cash, and turn St James into a ridiculous arena. If the owners refuse to move, then maybe they'll just Khashoggi them...sorry that is in really bad taste. But then I'm a bad person so its hardly surprising.
How about St James's park becomes the academy? I think we'd probably still sell out for our U23 games - especially if they were against Sunderland. Retains tradition and gets players used to playing on a big stage.
Defo a valid point and something any of us should hope to see. As long as there is that balance I can accept that the modern way is a mixture of all. Man C have your Foden come through from local, your Sancho come from elsewhere and then leave, plus your young foreign lads. Just having a young player make it will be nice!
I hope to see some local geordie (perhaps even the odd mackem) come through the NUFC system and represent England. That would be awesome.
