I am creating a website for Norwich City supporters (yeah, I know, there are already a few out there but so what). I would like some ideas from you guys as to what sort of content I can introduce to get you to read it and keep coming back. It really is at the very basic stage as of today hence the request for you go here - http://norwichcityfanzone.weebly.com/ and offer some input Cheers guys OTBC
Being a nerdy statistics geek I always love scrolling through data on leading club appearance makers or goalscorers etc. Anything like that on your site would be a good help as I can never find info like that quickly and consumable in an easy format.
I have seen on some websites where they have a Twitter feed built in, whereby anyone who hashtags NCFC has their tweet featured, that would be good. Also, if you could encorporate a BBC iplayer feature where we could watch some sports news or something similar? I'm a big fan of building the media into websites, making it a "one stop shop" as it were. I assume that would be quite difficult though, so just an idea! :-D
I will look in to the feeds, I am sure there are others that could be useful too. Not sure I can include an iPlayer feature in to the website but again, I will have a look and see what options are available to me
Set up a paypal account so that payments are being made directly to Skipper and myself everytime a non bonafide city fan visits. And the site wont let them quit until they have paid their fine. Just an idea mate Seriously though Thai. How about having a word with RBF and see if he will let you post one of his odes for the more memorable matches/events ie. The pompey match that got us promoted.
Time to plug this again The site has been updated a little so you can get a feel of how it will work and look etc. Open to more ideas, suggestions etc and please feel free to hit the Google +1 button <grin: http://norwichcityfanzone.weebly.com/
Unfortunately not on Google + so can't +1 it. Maybe a feature to get people starting discussions on there? I know more activity on a site the better for google. Also try and use Twitter to promote the site when finished, don't underestimate the power of twitter, things pick up like wild fire on there.
Looks great! The only small suggestion (which is probably a pain to do), would be if the managers data could be sorted by clicking on the top of each column? You'd then easily be able to see who had the highest win %, who managed the most games, etc. Also, possibly highlighting current players in another colour, or with a * would be nice.
I have an alternative method as I am not using a database for this info. I can add a drop down menu where you can select how you want the records displayed. I will look at doing that perhaps tomorrow, thanks for the suggestion
I will have a look at introducing something along those lines but cannot make any promises as I do not have 100% control over the web pages
Not sure mate, I mean just so when you publish a news story or something it comes up on there. I have no idea how to do so, will have a look around if you want?
