It seems that is must be when not if, surely?

There are many on here who are voicing for Redknapp, but others want Benitez.

For me it has to be Redknapp simply due to the fact that he will get this club unified once again, and give the team that fighting spirit that we are desperately lacking at the moment.

Im really not sure on Benitez tbh.

But if you could have one choice, who would you go with (and make it realistic!)?

Redknapp, on a contract to the end of the season, with a hefty bonus to keep us up.

Between the two, Harry. He's a much better version of Warnock (who most fans loved) and looks like he's prepared for a fight, even in the championship. Benitez to me is just another MH with tactics. We could end up with the same problems. Right now plan A is out the window. We need to think short term again and Harry is the man. It'll be a good way to end his career.

    This.
Would prefer Benitez long term, but we can only think about trying to stay up imo.

    Someone mentioned Lothar Matthäus.

He's a surefire winner and there can't be much the man doesn't know about football.

Erratic management career thus far and has never been able to settle. Bit of a gamble I know, but could work out...

Prefer to stay away from ex players for the time being, especially strikers!

Redknapp is the master motivator and he has the habit of pulling off all sorts of deals. I would expect a few loanees to come in and one or two of his Spurs players to be signed, Dawson the obvious one and possibly Defoe, although he was on the bench a lot in Harry's time he's better than anything we've got. As I said on another thread, would he ask Ledley King to come out of retirement for a last hurrah till the end of the season?...

Defo Redknapp b4 Benitez. When Harry took over Spurs weren't they near the bottom and then along comes Harry and pushes them as far up the table that they are now real contenders for top 4 each year. Benitez wanted too much control from top to bottom and then everything started to go wrong (then again he left Liverpool in a better condition and position than how they have been in the last few years)

I think qpr need to think good and hard about who should replace sparkey when he eventually leaves because sometimes its best to ignore these high profile managers like harry and benitez and go for a young hungry not well known manager like we did in appointing one of our ex players wanting to break into management in Martinez....after him we gave Brendan Rodgers a job after his disastrous time at reading, look at him now at liverpool starting to build a good footballing side there......well known is not always best and don't forget they were sacked by bigger clubs than you or us....just a thought..There are some young hungry ex players out there itching for a chance of management and they would come pretty cheap and you will be pleasantly surprised just how good they are at understanding what its like playing football in the modern game...

We need someone who will be strong and motivational with these "too good to be playing here" types we have.

I'd love to see Paulo Di Canio get hold of Bosingwa, preferably by the throat...

Well said Dai. It's obvious that we should have done precisely that. Now it looks like we will compound the error with one final desperate bung at buying success. Here's hoping it works whoever it is.

I think 'Arry is possibly the one single candidate that can realistically be brought in straight away and keep us up. A lot of the managers mentioned are tied to contracts and prising them away will be costly and take time. More importantly we need a manager who is current in regards to premier league knowledge and experience. That is vital at the moment. We don't have time to take chances with a manager who doesn't. Experimenting in our present predicament will prove to be fatal. I'm not a huge fan of Harry's, but then again I felt the same about Warnock until he showed up.
