A reasonably unrelated clip but it popped up on my timeline, and Frank talking about the fact that taking shots, taking chances, to get the crowd up and engaged, struck me as at the core of what we're talking about when it comes to generating atmosphere.

    Yep
So it’s Walters job to coach the team into how to deal with that

    No idea mate
You would think Walter and his coaches will go over and analyse what went wrong
If daws has any input surely he’ll speak up
Taking off the midfield three must mean he saw us not dealing with the situation ??

The players made poor decisions after a complete shift in mentality, the speed of play and thought dropped. They absolutely have the ability to beat that type of press and have before. Wether or not Tim can install the confidence needed to do it consistently remains to be seen.

But we don’t use the midfield, if we are going to bypass them then he may aswell put you, me and syd in there.
There was a stat that fletch mentioned on the podcast our highest midfielders for either passing or touches (I forget which) are palmer and Simon’s in 81st and 85th position.
Also pandur has out passed them both

We also look slicker and less nervy with the ball at the back. Far more assurance, possibly since Hughes came in.

If TW leaves it’s Daws in charge for me, certainly until a known name becomes available or approached. If moneys a problem getting a bigger name it’s a good opportunity for someone hungry enough to move up to a club crying out for success again with a point to prove.

I don't care about age or experience, it just needs someone to put an arm around the players and give them some belief back. Someone they'll respect but also enjoy playing for. That could be another young manager like Rosenior or it could be an older one if he's still relevant. Definitely don't want a Colin type, and definitely no more of Acun's foreign punts.

Giz a job, I can do that.

I hope but very much doubt we have gone back to old school football. Defenders practicing tackles and headers in the box to stop the other side scoring, aided by panda who does the same but has the advantage of being able to use his hands.
Forwards practicing kicking the ball at/into the goal. If the ball is too high to kick use your head.
Midfielders doing a bit of both, if we're attacking move up, if defending come back.
