ex Man Utd keeper Heaton look a very good in the Liverpool cup final. Cardiff would have been hammered without him. Seems a waste sat on their bench.

Scott Loach must feel let down by Watford to bring in another keeper on loan to replace him. Has looked a decent young keeper and Capello must have seen something in him to put him in the England squad a few times.

Still like the look of Alex Smithies as a very good young keeper. Will be one for the future, just wish it was with us.

At the moment we only seem to be linked with Scottish keepers.

Question is, is DM looking for a first choice keeper or back up to Gerken.

Hope this isn't true. Scottish football is so poor, there really aren't any hidden gems up there in my opinion.

I'd like to see Brad Guzan come in, that would be amazing, an astonishing young talent so so under-used at Villa.

Hope this stuff about Keogh isn't true either. 500k for an ex player of ours is bad business, also 500k is asking far too much for a player who has been part of a relegated teams defen

Rhino's I strongly disagree with the no gems in Scotland thing - I watched Rangers v Dundee Utd a few weeks ago and the latter had a few that looked pretty decent to me...

Anyway, DM will know about the quality up there so if he thinks they are good enough that fine by me. The last time we had a team with a lot of Scotsmen with and a manager who united them (1975-1980) we did alright, I'd settle for that again...

So almost 40 years ago then? lol

I think even the top scottish players like Goodwillie will struggle in an INCREDIBLY strong Championship next season, let alone players that have never played in the English leagues before.

I don't mean any dis-respect, it's an opinion I can't see being changed, Scottish football is the pits at the moment sadly.

Veteran defender Louis Carey, 35, has been offered a new one-year deal and only needs 20 more appearances to equal the club record of 645 by Jon Atyeo.

    Hi all,

'Ibodyslamrhinos', I'm not sure that I agree with you at all on this. Fair enough you're entitled to your opinion.. Can I ask what you think of Ricky Foster? Also the striker that Leeds got from Cardiff, Ross McCormack, came from the SPL. As did Robert Snodgrass.

I agree that the teams in Scotland are of a pretty poor standard. That doesnt mean they do not have some talented individuals amongst their ranks. Even that shower of excrement at the Mem Shed occasionally have a good player in their squad (Lambert)

As I said, I respect that you have your own opinion. However I'd urge you to have faith in McInnes' judgement.

Apologies if this has been written poorly. I was educated in North Bristol. <whistle>

You could add Robert Dorrans of WBA who started at Livingston as did Snodgrass. They have to bring youngsters through up there so actually produce more good youngsters than we do.

In all due respect These are all players schooled in football this side of the boreder. I am not saying all Scottish players are rubbish, I am saying that the majority of the players in that league currently would struggle in our league. Especially if they have never played in the championship.

I will always have faith in DM though, whoever he signs.
