According to the Western Mail, we are interested in PNE striker Jamie Proctor. Heard that Norwich have also expressed interest - they would, he's a 6ft2" mobile striker and would suit the Holt/ Morrison type they seem to favour up front. Can't find out too much about him. Signed from Stockport he's pacey and dribbles the ball well, unusual for a tall striker. He's 19 years old with little goal pedigree to his name thus far, so this one seems very much a bet for the future. Obviously, Buck/scout sees some potential and it will be interesting to see how things develop. Seems we are also looking at his team mate Adam Barton a 5ft11" midfielder. Perhaps Buck is thinking of a bit more beef for our future midfield. This news, if true, might disappoint those (Dai?) looking for an immediate transfusion of experience and quality. However, if sensible money is involved it makes sense to seek out promising prospects for the future. If they don't cut it they will surely have improved as players by being with us and could be sold on for a decent profit with a PL club on their CV. I assume Rory Donnelly could be viewed in the same light. Looking at the worst case scenario, they could be regarded as some insurance in the event of relegation. In that case the breakup of our team would be inevitable and these sort of players would be ready for Championship football far sooner than they would for the PL. Perish that thought, though.
It'd be interesting to see how much he costs... and to compare the relative value of buying from the UK compared to Ireland, or any other country for that matter. If he hasn't got a whole load of goals to his name yet I wouldn't like to see us spend too much money on him, but I do believe by continually searching out good youngsters like these two, that we'll stand the club in good stead in terms of player development and resale value.
http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/884448...b-after-training-ground-tantrum#ixzz1g9onqQ8W Apparently Andros Townsend had a training ground bust-up and could be on his way out of WHL. Could be worth a cheeky loan? Both wings and he can play in the hole...
I'm sure he scored a back post header (probably the only one he'll score all his career) against us while on loan at Ipswich or someone else last season? I'll check that claim out now...
It's all about prospects in my opinion , except for defense . Moore , Lita & Graham are solid up front , especially in a one man system . Sinclair , Dyer , Routledge , Allen , Britton , Gower , Agustien with possibilities of Bodde & Dobbie at the very least , adequite ... adaquet ... good enough . Rangel , Williams , Caulker & Taylor will do the job if healthy but not a lot of backup for the back 4 regulars . With caulker sure to be gone at the end of the season , we need a couple of big defensive signings
Myself and Leeeeon were talking the other day... if Spurs somehow win the league, or at least look like doing it, Caulker might fancy playing every week for the Swans? Just an idea...
He does look like he belongs beside Williams , and seems happy with his wrung on the ladder around Swansea's defense . Hope you & Leeeeon are right
