The guy is a top bloke, has proven track record (despite what scummers say), we have a great board, a promising and developing squad and our Chief Scout is rightfully home.

    Paul Who?

    I'm very, very excited.

Alan Bowketts interview was good as well, he announced that lots of money will be available and we may look to europe for signings

also revealed Lambert had a "wobble" 12 months ago and he "was the most impatient man he'd ever met"

Did he elaborate on the wobble at all? Doesn't surprise me, strange what goes on behind the scenes which no one would ever have guessed.

I think Lambert wants to try and get the Man U job when fergie retires. They're going to want a manager who can build an era. However he will be competing with the likes of Pep and José for that job. I just reckon it was in the back of his mind that he needs to be at the top of his game in 2/3 years time.

Positive times - good management appointment, strong, resilient Board who know what and who they want, good squad with the likelihood of quality coming in - just the Holt situation to sort out now. Either get him onside and firing on all six or get as much cash for him as we can (£4m + must be our minimum marker here). Would love him to stay but if his heart is set on leaving then the club must be mercenary and maximise the fee so that we can invest in a quailty replacement or two.

    Good day today !

A couple of Friday's ago I went home gutted.
I feel like I have a spring in my step today - it has been an excellent day and it has been terrific with genuine Newcastle fans coming on to our boards with positive comments about CH. They did not need to and that says a hell of a lot.
    C'mon City, onwards and upwards!!

Hmm "wobble", could explain some of the let's say, "indifferent" team selections and performances towards the end of last season ?

Me thinks PL wanted to spend money that, if everything went pear shaped on the field, would have put us right back in the 'you-know-what'

it was a very impressive presser (eventually!) and as expected hughton came across articulate and positive. lets not get too far ahead of ourselves though - the mission next season is to stay up again. then we can begin to press on with our more ambitious plans for the future. yes we have money to spend but the wage cap is still a hinderance and that won't be changing anytime soon <ok>

I am very happy seeing Hughton as the new manager and think that the board have made a good decision for our new manager. It will be interesting to see what players he intends to sign.

Personally, I think Grant Holt might have a change in attitude following Hughton's appointment.

McNally has made in clear that he is not for sale, except for obscene sums of money, and is under contract for 2 yrs.

New manager, new opportunity, chance for redemption

Besides, if the media reports are to believed if was about a contract extension that was the bane of the problem, not him wanting to go elsewhere.

Hughton is a good manager but at best with this Holt thing still kicking on, we're not even back were we finished of at the end of the season. Sooner Chris makes some signings, the better!

It will be very interesting to see what players we are linked with in the coming weeks. We had our views on "Lambert" players, I'm intrigued to see what a "Hughton Player" is

Certainly some of his signings at Newcastle were inspired, so I have no concerns there.

What a difference a week makes! We've gone from hiding the sharp objects away to feeling really up beat and positive! PL was a god here but towards the end of last season I felt he started to run out of ideas? Maybe he had gone as far as he could with this group of players ? Who knows, but I for one am looking forward to the Hughton erra!

Wise choice according to Gary Lineker, Lord Sugar also has good things to say about him aswell.

Liked the fact he said he was going to speak to Holt and wants the club to move forward
