Not sure sure how much of this is true or where it came from but apparently this is being talked about, I've attached a pic of the rumoured badge, whats your thoughts?
I quite like the look of that new one but why change it? Nothing to gain and I'm sure a lot of supporters won't want the change.
I concur. There is absolutely no reason to change the badge, but the logo Nomak attached does actually look good.
Yeah, with twenty league titles. New badge ok for Europe I suppose but it's pretty meaningless for the league.
Yeah - our's would have 5 stars on it.... (if we ever ****ing qualify for it again ) P.S. Well done for winning the league - fully deserved, no complaints here. Although I must say the league has been pretty ****e this season, in comparison to last year. The highlight of this season is the ongoing relegation battle....
If it happens it will almost certainly be to try and sell more merchandise - a simpler round logo sells better than the current one, and will also be cheaper to stitch than the current one. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. On the one hand it seems a bit cheap to ditch a badge which has been essentially unchanged for around 50 years just to sell a few more shirts. But on the other hand Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs have all ditched their badges without a second thought, even if it pisses the supporters off and pisses all over the club's history, so obviously football as a whole it moving in this direction. Tho' worth noting that some guy on Reddit claimed he designed the 'new' badge for a competition around a year ago. So either the report is a fake, or we're getting a badge which was designed by a supporter, which is pretty cool when you consider how many shirt sponsors redesign the badge themselves to suit their own aims.
I would like to reiterate my point on change, especially needless change. Why the **** do we need a new badge?
Can't see it being true to be honest. If we're getting one surely it needs to reflect the monumental 20 league titles rather than the merely ok three European cups? What's the more significant, especially if used for premier league games?
I don't see a problem. Not the first time the badge will have changed. If a slight change may help the logo be more attactive to potential sponsors then so be it.
It's a damn sight better than your current monstrosity, and as someone who can't stand United even that was tough to say
Its not too bad if it was the on in the OP. However the current badge is hardly overly complicated and its already a redesign itself so I fail to see the need just now. Imo we just need to add the numeber 21 and leave room for 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 for the next decade.
