If you have to ask much it is, you can't afford it. Actually, it's 24,000 joining fee and £7,690 a year, both figures pre-vat. A mate's a member at Woburn. That's an awesome golf club. I think he pays about £6,000 a year.
Two more interesting facts about Martin Bain. 1) He gave up a career as a model to move into football. 2) L'Equipe newspaper in France reported how he had a six figure sum going into one of his accounts paid for by one of the dodgiest agents in Football. i've got an invite to play wentworth in June. one of the big earners in the uk is a member. i believe the fee is now 100k! so intend to make the most of the day: golf in the morning, lunch meeting in the club, followed by England vs Wales in the bar. he's been kind enough to book me a room so i can stay overnight. Couldn't think of a much better day out, provided we win. Just need to get some practice in - I've only played twice this year...would be a dreadful shame to play like a twat on the day!!
The new owners wanted to raise the fees to £100k but the members managed to stop that from happening. Still bloody expensive now. About £15k I think. Enjoy it mate. Get out there on the driving range to make the most of the experience!
