Our bad luck with injuries just seem to go from bad to worse.... and the cold weather hasn't really hit us yet either!

MEHDI Abeid has almost certainly kicked his last ball for Newcastle United until February.

The midfielder, recovering from a broken toe, is out of the club’s festive programme.

And United manager Alan Pardew, without suspended Cheik Tiote for the Boxing Day visit to Manchester United, doesn’t expect him to be fit before he leaves for the African Cup of Nations.

Abeid has been selected in Algeria’s squad for the tournament, which is being staged in Equatorial Guinea.

A shame but it does pose a question for Pardew. Does he keep Tiote in the January window or not, bearing in mind he toowill be going to the Africa Cup, along with Cisse. Unless something is done our squad is going to be woefully thin at what could be a difficult time for the club trying to accumulate enough points to keep out of a dog fight at the bottom.
I can't understand Pardew either. Half fit players are being brought back from injury far too soon and breaking down virtually immediately which puts them out of a lot more matches. ( Aarons, Abeid ). Wonder what loans/free transfers we'll get in January?

When were with Aarons or Abeid brought back early from injury ? I've been thinking that both are being given a particularly leisurely recovery period. (hard to see how you could blame a broken toe on being brought back early in any event?)

He only played like two games... Everybody calm down!

We never expected him to play a single game this season... Let's not give Ashley the credit of saying Abeid is a first team squad player. He isn't. He came in and played well a couple of times, but our squad is woefully thin for him to get anywhere near the first 11.

I know... I mean, a bit of perspective... Would we all be lamenting Sammy Ameobi as saviour if he'd got crocked immediately after scoring vs Spurs?!

We can't let these welcome successes to gloss over a woefully underfunded squad.

Abeid played Burnley away, when he had practically no fit players. Didn't look fit in that game, but Pardew had no players. Aarons came back at Man City and went off injured after Liverpool game. Also which toe did he break?

That's so much a skill, considering how sexually uninterested they are, I put it on my CV.
