Obviously our relegation acts in the Prem brought me nerves! Also, last night was the first night of the promotion-no-sleep. Where your up all night twisting and turning thinking of how our run-in will unfold and of course, what the Premier League is going to like. Same thing happened last season!
I know what you mean - I've lost count of how many times I've written out how the league will look, who's gonna pick up points, who'll drop them!!! I think I'd be skint by now if I had to pay to use the BBC predictor!!!
The nerves are jangling here as they always do before any game - whilst I don't necessarily see tonight's game as crucial, I'd be happy if we could continue in our winning ways. We're at the business end of a brilliant season so it's only right that that we should look to stamp a bit of authority on our position. I just keep telling myself that we're not where we are by luck alone & we genuinely have nobody to fear. Hopefully the lads will go out & play their natural game in front of a euphoric sell out crowd. I only wish I could be there but sadly not to be :/
When asked about permutations, Adkins wouldn't be drawn and just said 'leave that to the fans.' So he knows we have our abacuses out.
All I've managed to eat today so far is a piece of toast, I couldn't stomach having lunch. I can't concentrate on my work and my palms are sweating. I'm worried the Chapel might be subject to a bout of tourettes as my nervous tension gets released. Strangely before the Poopey game I was cool as a cucumber. I shall go and try some breathing techniques now...and lerax!
That in itself, would an achievement for me! Haven't ate anything since 4pm yesterday. As soon as Adkins pops up with a Pre-match interview I go on a two day diet of eating **** all!
Mrs Jasper was due to attend tonight , but she is now refusing to attend as she feels if she goes we will lose and it will all be her fault , I thought I was bad !!!!!!! My mate's going instead , so IF we lose I will blame him instead ................ I ALWAYS get nervous about games , but VERY about tonights :-(
Mrs Lamballana wants to know what all the fuss is about! How can you be worked up over something so minor etc etc. Will get lots of disapproving looks every-time I scream at TV tonight, and that's bound to be a lot of times
The biggest game of this season is at upton park tomorrow for the loser of tonights game. If Brighton can get a result there then losing tonight won't be important in terms of finishing 2nd.
I'm with a sports betting syndicate and they have recommended a win bet on Saints tonight.Their logic is that we will boss the midfield with three Reading players out. I so hope they are right!
Just had my regular fix of watching our opening game against Leeds...always make me feel good and since I switch off after our third goal, we always win 3.0. Always such fun in the sun...let's hope for the same spirit and confidence tonight.
My thinking too. Remember, I know we drew last time but we had no Lallana, no Sharp and no Fonte as I remember. They had their First XI. This time we have everyone bar Morgan, Connolly and Tadanari fit. They could be without Karacan and Leigertwood. I'm confident. The tactics they play requires the 2 CM's to sit deep and hit the passes, without the two regulars we have to take advantage. We also have home advantage. They even played a light and agile winger in the middle of midfield against Brighton. Hammond and Cork can deal with it.
I'm nervous about tonight, but if i'm honest I've been nervous about all our games in the last month - which is unlike me. COYR. Looking forward to taking the title at Peterborough
Karacan has a broken ankle so is definitely out. Leigertwood and Robson-Kanu are 50/50 for the game as far as i have seen and have been in training. I expect Leigertwood to start and R-Kanu on the bench. But we shall see...let's just hope that whatever team NA puts out does the business. On the subject of nerves...I'm always nervous before games and that isn't about to change in a potential title decider with 4 games to go! ahhhh My biggest conundrum is whether to wait until the end of the match to see how things went or struggle along watching skysports score centre updates online...I'm not sure i can deal with either...If i get phone call from my dad 5 minutes after the final whistle it is normally a good sign.
Well I've just forced some lunch down (yummy salmon and pasta) although I could barely hold the knife and fork as my palms are sweating so much. Getting the train down from Farnborough Main around 4.30pm, be in town by 5.30, then first stop pub.
Just been on Hob Nob site...only one of their fans had a 'good feeling'. They seem very nervous, but that probably reflects how close this is all getting. Seems that Leigherwood (sp?) is out as well as Karacan (what a wuss, in the seventies, you'd have played on a broken ankle).
