Sky Sports has posted that he has agreed a contract with Huddersfield until the end of the season. Looks like he had no intention of returning to Ashton Gate if it's true but then who would blame him?
No I don't blame him. This really raises a few questions. Don't think he wanted to come here as why would you want to come to a team that will be in a relegation fight until the last day.
I agree with you Shiny and I've been saying for years that we long disappeared off the places to be for players and the reasons why are staring us all in the face. We are, and have been for years, an extremely badly run organisation and there does not appear to be any commitment to change from the top. Looking back to when Steve Coppell arrived and then headed for the hills so fast it made me wonder what he saw about us that he didn't like and now the evidence is there for all the footballing world to see. Steve Lansdown must accept that lousy people have been hired and the current situation only highlights the sad fact that we will continue to do the same ad nauseum. The whole structure of the club could have been changed if there had only been someone who cared enough about our plight to make the necessary changes but just talking about it will never get the job done - will it?
The guy stated he wanted to move up north to be closer to his family.. Not much we could do let's be honest.
He had the chance to return but he turned it down. I think the chance to link up with Jermaine Beckford might have been a reason he chose Huddersfield. There good mates
Huddersfield quoted that they had stolen him from City. Not quite sure what they meant by that but good luck to him and a shame he did not want to return. Perhaps that indicative of what's going on with us.
Or perhaps it was because "of his family" All very disappointing, but in any case the priority remains to sort out our defence. 2 centre backs and a defensive midfielder is all we require at this time
Is this on loan or a permanant move? If it's the former then we could be a bit concerned that he didn't feel like extending his stay, though if the family/friends thing is true then there isn't that much to grumble about. A tad frustrating perhaps, but not season defining I don't think.
Yes I don't think we have any right to complain if the decision was truly based on his family's concerns. Good luck Neill.
No apparently it was because they didn't accept a large offer from us for Nicky Maynard... probably got his own back
