I can see that Mr. Warnock is keeping an eye on things at Home Park..
Just wondering what Sheridan is thinking for next season..
I guess it depends on if Argyle survive..

    Your thoughts?..

He says he wants a part time director of football job. Not sure I like the idea of that. I'm quite happy with Sheridan and I cannot see any experienced manager wanting some other ex manager looking over their shoulder. Warnock is not the sort of bloke to keep his nose out is he. I don't want him anywhere near Home Park thanks in any capacity. Every club I can think of that has had a director of football previously has ended up with the manager being sacked and that person taking the reigns. No, no and that's a no from me.

You support Argyle and them West Ham and you are going to talk football????? Bit of a contradiction there BC. This part of the world, that is the South West, not the Bristol end but the real South West, is reasonable weather wise. Not exactly balmy but no snow around here and it has been dry for several weeks now. No question about the match for Saturday. God have I got everything crossed.

I'm off to Kent myself at the start of May. Folkestone. Did my Naval training in Chatham at the Supply School and served there for a year or so some time after on the Flag Officer's Staff. My middle son was born in Gillingham but I've brainwashed him over the years to follow the greens. As a kid he loved West Ham ironically and I have taken him to Upton once when he was about 8 years old for a birthday treat. Billy Bonds was 42 then and it was one of his last matches. He keeps telling me they won the world cup in 66.

Blimey sensible just noticed your posting time.....you having sleeping problems.......surely not worried that Warnock will become Sheridans boss are you.

Hopefully it might be warmer in May when you pop along.......but at present in my bit of Kent the temperature for the last week as been hovering around 32f-35f.... plus a bit of wind shield thrown in..........flecks of snow on and off all week and at present a dusting of snow on the grass........generally thinking of turning the heating down a notch or two in April..........not this year though.....British Gas must be making a fortune at the moment.....must be time to put the prices up again.......it's being cheerful that keeps me going.

Just been reading some of the write-ups about Warnock that are going around at present.

He seems to be giving hints that he is looking for a part time football job near his Cornwall home.

It's been revealed that he has had the odd chat with Sheridan and backs his efforts to keep Argyle in the league.

Would it be a surprise then if he got offered some form of employment at Home Park ?

Warnock's problem is that he can't keep his mouth shut and can cause problems to other people..........so he should fit in well then.....personally we don't need someone looking for a semi-retired form of employment.

    What about bears BC?

I always stay up late plym and in this neck of the woods would have turned my heating off altogether by now. I have been staying up later than normal to take meter readings because of a problem with my supplier who is EDF and who have been charging my bills wrong for the last 4 years it turns out. Dealing with their customer non-service department. I call them that because they normally say no to most things you ask them. We have been in credit for ages with them and not been too bothered it was up to a couple hundred at some times. However with our last bill we ended up nearly £300 in debit. It stood out like a sore thumb so did some checking and discovered that they have been charging us night rate for the day usage and day rate for the night usage. I have storage heaters so do economy 7. The heaters use nearly 5 times as much as our day time usage and even though they are off for more than half the year the night usage still amounts to more over the 12 months. As we had a new meter in 4 years ago they readings both started on zero so it didn't stand out for quite a while. The difference in readings over 4 years between the two is around 9000 units. That's an overchage of that many times the difference between the two rates which averages out at about 10p a unit. So instead of being £300 in debt we should be about £600 in credit. Trying to get them to realise it as well is like talking to a brick wall. Hence the staying up late and taking readings. I think I've cracked it now with them but am not holding my breath they will sort it out properly. One really good one they came out with. I was trying to arrange a home visit so they could see it for themselves which reading was going up at what time of day and what gadgets we had using the power. Bear in mind this is EDF and their primary region for supply is the South West. Having been kept waiting for an appointment to be arranged for a week I was informed that "we don't do home visits in your area". So, in a City of over 250,000 people, the biggest this side of Bristol with huge numbers of customers, they don't have anyone to call on a house. When this is all over I feel an Ombudsman case coming on. No doubt the other companies are as bad however. Apparently the Energy industry is not very good all around when you start looking into it.

Back on topic which was Warnock. That was precisely my point about Warnock plym. He upsets people with running off at the mouth and I don't want him to upset Sheridan. I would not want to end up with Warnock with him having driven Sheridan out which, sure as eggs are eggs, he would end up doing. Stay away from the club Warnock we have enough troubles already.

When you get your meter readings soughted out....you'll be able to help that nice Mr Brent with a loan to buy a damn goal scorer sensible.

sorry to disagree, but i like Warnock (fellow countyman). He lives down here, has masses of experience and contacts & he and Sheridan are not enemies, and he still has an appetite for football. Yes he is a self opinionated non political hand grenade (as i am) but i reckon he could provide the 'football experience in the boardroom' that we we clearly lack.

Met him once at Plymouth airport(remember that) and he was, charming, honest and blunt-just what we need.

That though is my whole point lyndhurst. He and Sheridan are not enemies but he doesn't work for PAFC so there is no need for them to be. If he did get involved then I wonder how long they would remain friends. I accept he has bags of everything football and there is nothing wrong with being outspoken. But he wouldn't restrict himself to gobbing off at the Board of Directors. He couldn't for more than 5 minutes and we all know it. I want Sheridan to stay because I think he is pretty good himself as a manager.

Don't get me wrong , I also want Sheridan to stay but i also think NW can do a good job as DOF. Could they work together?-I doubt it. But it could be fun to watch assuming by then we are safe from relegation. TBH am thinking more for next season than this. Don't think we want too many distractions in the run in.
