Much of the thread got derailed by BBR not keeping on topic. The issue is that the press is generally sensationalist, and in the matter of football, mostly not even true. Some of the cobblers they come out with is so disconnected from the truth, its actually comic (but not funny). The bleating of the press over Evra being booed, you just couldn't make it up. He's been booed at Anfield before, mostly for being a complete ****, and partly for being owned. But the press made it out to be something far more sinister. Because then they can see more bogroll that way. It would be nice for the press to report facts (for once) and let the reader make the interpretations on their own...
I actually think it's impossible for them to. It's poor journalism. I know sports' journalists will love their area and have their own opinions and affiliations but when it seeps into their writing (unless under the title "comment" or "opinion") then it's sloppy and embarrassing on their part. Even the BBC (Sports) have gotten worse. On a side note, when did the FA become the rule of law? theyre not the courts, their rulings are pure opinion based on no proof whatsoever, a staggering statistic I read the other day is that 99% of those charged by the FA are sanctioned. This converts to around 70% in a court of law. FA = Police state
