<peacedove>The press can build, so also they can destroy. However they are more of destroyer than builder. However, this
is not to condone actions of some stupid football supporters or players. The press always have a part to play, and their parts are
not always played right. All of us are aware of what happened in News International group, in particular "News of the world" which
was part of News International group.
Reporters are paid to bring in news especially sensational ones-"sesational news" are the one that can sell papers, how reporters
get the news does not matter to them. They can get half of the news and make up the other half.
Recently the problem between Manchester United and Liverpool especially in relation to Evra and Suarez has become a sensational
news and any paper that can get any news it becomes "EXCLUSIVE" to that News Paper alone.
After the Liverpool and United game at Anfield there was an encounter between Liverpool's manager and a reporter:
When Kenny Dalglish was asked what he thought of Evra's every touch being booed, the Liverpool manager responded: "Are you winding me up?" He added: "Why would I be disappointed for Evra? I can't believe you have asked that question before anything else. Have you ever played football? I used to get booed.
On February 11 Liverpool at Old Trafford in the league game: Evra coped very well at Anfield, and I do not think Kenny is going to
leave Suarez out,I think he would be able to cope too.It is now left for the media to decide if they want to destroy the game.

I'm sure we will all be closely watching to see how many arrests or gestures are made at old trafford.

but then ;) it is hard to when chomping on prawn sandwiches facing away from the game so they must all be saints in that part of the world.

What I think should be raised is:

Evra confessed to insulting Suarez first, and Evra went and picked the fight with Suarez after not liking his tackle, when any issues should have been raised with he officials. He also made this incident public via a french magazine, handing it to the media in a place where he knew he would get the upper hand.

Evra is not an innocent person here, yet nothing has been said against him, or no action taken.

In my opinion Evra conducted his business in a very disrespectful way, and only kept his dignity fully intact because this countries scared of the word racism.

The press don't build or destroy, they just sensationalise. They all love a headline or big story, particularly a misleading one that will get people reading. Just look at all the headlines about Suarez "racially abusing" Evra. He didn't racially abuse him, he used a racially offensive term - there is an important difference there, but "racially abused" is a much more shocking headline and sells more papers.

Unfortunately for you guys, your club seems to be creating more sensational headlines recently. Like the one you've highlighted in red SD - Dalglish could have answered that question in a way that was much less likely to be jumped on by the press. He's just given every tabloid reporter in the country a great opportunity to spin his comments however they feel, particularly after his comments about the need for Suarez to be protected from booing after the Wigan and Fulham games.

Why was KD booed was he found guilty of using racial terms?
Was he the victim of racial abuse?
As far as i am concerned the booing by LFC fans was nothing less than expected (Evra was the victim) and they hate anyone stealing their limelight.
Kenny sending his team out in (let`s support a racist) t-shirts though was totally unacceptable. This is the one thing that has got the back up of fans from across the leagues (not just Utd fans).
As Utd fans still put up with the banter about Rio being a junkie for missing a test (although he took one a few hours later and got the allclear), LFC fans are probably going to have to put up with banter about Suarez the Racist.

Of course the FA did not find that Suarez is a racist, but what the hell- never let the truth get in the way of a good dig, eh?

The Suarez ban was justified and in my opinion not long enough for such a disgusting offence. Along with the rest of the country I believe the treatment of Evra during last weeks game was nothing short horriffic. I remember turning on the TV and my Mrs (who hates football - lol) asking me why they were booing him and she was completely gobsmacked when I told her what had happened.

I fear that certain sections of the Liverpool fans are trying to bring back footballs dark ages and we all know what that lead too. Part of me wonders... Why is it always Liverpool fans who are at the heart of things like this?? Every tradgedy that is associated with the club was easily avoidable. Is it because you live in a poor area of the country?? who knows but someone needs to start educating football fans up there.

Dont tell me.... Is it the Police to blame (again) for all this racism? (on and off the field)

I stated facts about your club and its history and you deleted it. How can we have proper debate if you are just going to delete anything that you don't agree with.

.... it is no wonder this site is dying on its arse.

    COMMENT - CREATE - DEBATE

    Freely right??
