Djilobodji hasn't been in the squad for Senegal over recent times. But his performances these last few months may change that!!

It's been over a year now since he was last called up for international duty.

Is it still the same gaffer in charge that he fell out with? I hope so because he's a right stubborn prick.

I thought about that but Denayer's natural position is CB and Rodwell's natural position is CM. Seems weird to play both out of position for the sake of it...

I thought Rodwell always played centre half as a young lad?

Maybe sometime away may do the club and N'Dong some good. Wasn't impressed with our record buy and the second goal United scored. Yes, he gave the ball away to Ibra and then we were f*cked.....I can for give him for a bad pass....what was unforegivable was that he just layed their on the pitch and didn't get up to try and get the ball back. Not what I want to see.......play the remaining games till the ACON without him and light a fire under his ass when he returns so that he understands that when you play for Sunderland you are expected to run through brick walls for the team. Not just give up and just sit there.......

Are you saying that he needs to "make like the Beverly Hillbillies - and move away from here."

I thought Zaha played for England.

Sunderland, Hull and Leics could be in for a tough few weeks.

I do not hold the point of view that once you have played in one position you can't play in another, just look at the players in question, form what I have seen, one does not look like a center half, and the other does not look like a mid-field player, so if we are to play them and we have little scope not to, why not put square pegs into square holes, its worth a try imo.

What worries me about this lad is his application, he looks the part, but has steadily gone down hill from a promising start, the very opposite of Papy who is starting to form a very good partnership with Kone. I would still like to see a back three with JoS included, and two full backs ( Larsen or Love and PVA for me) playing as wing-backs, especially with the mid-field we have at our disposal atm, this can be a very good formation as Chelsea, seemingly by accident, have found out.

Agree that players can play more than one position, but Rodwell has played, I believe, every single game of his professional career in centre mid. Denayer likewise as a CB, until he came to us. He has only been playing midfield for us because of a lack of options there, I believe he would still see himself as a natural CB.

I've no problems with Denayer in midfield, he's proved he can do it. But to chuck Rodwell in as CD for the first time in his professional career is harsh on the lad imo. Considering how much a certain set of our fans love to get on his back for the smallest mistake, I can see it being a disaster.

Also a bit confused with the "square pegs in square holes" comment - you're suggesting playing a CM at CB and a CB at CM...

I would only be happy with rodwell playing CB when paired with O'Shea. His experience and leadership at the back would do him well, and he'll advising him about his position etc.

Personally I love seeing denayer in midfield, he has so much energy, good tackling and passing. Same that catts and the hoff aren't fit, would like to see those three play together.
