That was just horrible. And tragic. And sharply, painfully embarrassing. I felt like I was hallucinating throughout (which was an unexpected bonus), but bloody hell. God needs to get his finger out and have a look at the kind of things we're getting up to down here. Someone needs to stop us.
Maybe you’re right, who knows? I can’t say it particularly felt like it, however, although I was more interested in the fact that there was a human being inside that costume, fumbling their way towards ignominy as the baying crowd rained derision upon his piggy head. That’s going to hurt. I wonder if anyone asked themselves – in the audience, in the judging panel, in the piggy costume itself – “what are we doing?” From this distance, it looked like unmitigated trash – the whole grisly, desperation-soaked carnival. Then again, if the pig is a genius, it would hardly be surprising if such genius wasn’t recognised in his lifetime. He’ll likely be ahead of his time, Cheik, is all. Take it easy.
